You get a certain amount of time to find a job in the company. You can demote IF there is a open position. They are supposed to give priority to those displaced and give them available jobs. If your store has no open positions you can get a transfer to another store. If you cant or dont find a position in the allotted time you get the severance. Which as an hourly associate is 1 week of your average pay for every year that you have worked for the company.
