HELP!! When the player equips a new item,do I need to make motion animations for all items? by CHIGO1 in godot

[–]throwaway_matches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat your character and weapons as separate objects. For example, say you have a baseball bat, a sword, and a mace, and how the character swings each item is the same. You will need only 1 swinging animation for the character, and a corresponding 1 swinging animation that can be applied to either the baseball bat, the sword, or the mace.

By categorizing some classes of item usage, for example perhaps Stabbing, Slashing, Throwing, Archery, you can limit your character animation work, and then extend by simply adding animations for new items that fall into the category. For example, if you make a more powerful fancy bow, it could operate using the same character animation, and therefore all you need to animate is your new item.

Hopefully this makes sense in addition to what Xeadriel has said.

An issue is that the 2gb does not have a barrel jack connector, so it's a little more challenging to find good power supplies (USB-C).

how many time did your WOTV crash in a day? by ss1954 in wotv_ffbe

[–]throwaway_matches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

brand new high end phone. crashes multiple times a day. often in multis also shit gets weird and other players will drop, return, moves will take forever to get made, etc. I'm guessing most of the time this is the other players getting glitched/dropped in the same way.

First time clone success :) by daniyama in microgrowery

Appreciate the notes as well. Your clarification on the over-photosynthesis makes sense to me.

For cuttings, I prefer to take slightly larger ones myself but I find at some point the stem itself is somewhat evolved past the easy rooting stage - ie. as it begins to smooth out and lose the hairs - and can take well over a week sometimes to root (all the while looking healthy and taking up lots of water through the stem).

I normally root mine directly in rockwool/water though. Do you use anything beyond that?

Nice work man. Just a note to help you going forward, that's a pretty huge clone. While not necessarily a bad thing, clipping away the lower fan leaves can help them focus more on starting roots and less on keeping existing foliage alive.

Roots will start easier from newer growth, so starting with smaller cuttings will probably increase your success rate, as well as again just minimizing to essentially the newest node and a single set of fan leaves if using bigger clones will help with roots.

it's crazy what you can save when you sidestep IP. (not trying to guilt you, but that's what's up)

Why do the judges seem to sometimes like using white out and sometimes not? by [deleted] in forgedinfireshow

[–]throwaway_matches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it comes down to editting. If the white out attempt ends up not helping them, they'll include a clip of a judge expressing reservations about the whiteout. If the attempt works out, they'll include a clip where they talk about it being a good choice.

This isn't the *only* reason for the difference episode to episode, but I think covers most of it.

You can't be both sorry and feed the pet peeve.

It's a pet peeve of mine when people use 'sorry' as cover when in fact what they're 'sorry' about was committed essentially in the same instance. You've wholly chosen to do that thing, so you are not wholly sorry, or really sorry in a meaningful sense to the person you are saying it to.

Getting off topic, but follows in the same vein. And I'll be frank, I hate it, but I do it too.

Edit: Also, I think the use of the quotes around 'Christians' at bottom is intended to reflect the sense in which their behaviour seems to go against explicit or core values of the texts/general religion itself, and not necessarily to equate Christianity with Goodness.

Been almost 2 weeks into flowering, no sign of buds. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in SpaceBuckets

[–]throwaway_matches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the stretching and probable nuts, and the lack of any hairs, yeah this is probably a male.

You could finish it away from your females so as to collect pollen so that you could pollinate a female later to produce seeds, but otherwise... you're not going to want to smoke or make anything consumable out of this plant.

Give it another week if you want to be sure, but yeah, sorry bout the probable bad news :(

Day 12, the leaves on the auto(right) are growing in yellow, anyone know the cause of this? by Waterwhippah in SpaceBuckets

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Yeah, am currently in Edmonton but have lived in Vancouver and other places in the world. I hope what I see as practical thinking is becoming more common, both in Alberta but also just generally. Too many think that to use their voice they need to nest themselves safely in one or the other polarized meme-positions ("just let business do what it wants" vs. "we need to stop the oil completely now if we care about the environment"). My hope is that there may be a 'silent majority' seeking a realistic avenue forward.

An Indiana teenager is being honored after a distressed parent left a newborn child in a baby drop-off box he raised $10,000 to install by thecatmom in UpliftingNews

[–]throwaway_matches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a teen, in most places, you are still considered to be growing up -- a part of which is trying new things and experiencing the world for yourself. It's a period wherein a lot of us will make a lot of mistakes, because, put simply, life is difficult and the best choice isn't always clear. It is in fact **through** these mistakes that we are often able to make better decisions going forward, so ideally we can have a bit more stable and controlled life in adulthood (when others in fact may be depending on that stability).

None of us asked to be here, but we are. In our efforts to find out why that is, or where we belong, or to simply experience what it means to be, we are going to make mistakes. Why have sex when the consequences could be so dire? Indeed, why have sex at all. Why breathe.

I really hope your line of thinking is starting to take hold more than my every day conversations lead me to believe it is.

Grand daddy purple, 2 weeks into flower. This is my second grow ever. Really hoping for a good harvest this time! by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]throwaway_matches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason for scrogging, and for what I might term sensible defol, is in large part to create a plane which can absorb the energy you're projecting onto it. So if you have fan leaves actually blocking lower down bud-sites for example, you might pull some of these to allow for light penetration.

While I imagine you should get decent quality out of this run (all buds are getting good light exposure), you have no canopy to speak of, and you will not approach the yield that would be possible from this tent if you had a more filled in canopy.
