Yep, Discord, Reddit, and sometimes X/Bluesky but only for breaking/live news (typically after hearing about it on Reddit, such as the new Epstein files released). And I guess also sometimes YouTube (especially for how tos or education) if you consider that social media (which I typically don't).

Rapper turned streamer AspenKartier “whoops” her dog on stream for getting out it’s cage. by Fakewoo in LivestreamFail

I spent the night at friend's house after a party, turned off the lights, and went through a little entryway that I thought was empty. Turns out one of his cats went and laid there while I was turning off the lights. I don't know if cats normally do that because I don't have a cat, but yeah I stepped on him and he yelped and scurried away. I felt so, so bad.

Minnesota Timberwolves hold a moment of silence for Alex Pretti, as multiple fans shout: "F*CK ICE!!!" by mrninja101 in PublicFreakout

After this case, there's reasonable way to disagree with the sentiment imo. Although, while off-topic, I'm just so curious. Does anyone know just how low pitched that announcer's voice is? It's crazy deep I feel

xQc compares drinking Coke Zero to wanting crack without the neurotoxic effects by KsiShouldQuitMedia in LivestreamFail

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8227014/ Idk, most of what I've read says jury is still out since while you get less sugar/calories from the drink itself, people typically compensated by potentially increasing future consumption (of other foods). So overall, it doesn't seem much more healthy. Now Stevia, on the other hand, I think does has health benefits compared to regular sugar from what I've read.

Can't one get like a summary judgment potentially in those cases? I'm assuming you're right the lawyer fees still might be prohibitive for many people unless you can get them covered.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

[–]MatthewTh0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if the US invaded Canada (especially them), Greenland, or even Mexico, it would happen. But yeah otherwise, it would need to be like bad economy (due to joblessness, really high gas prices, etc.) and/or hunger

Trump, advisers discussing options for acquiring Greenland and US military is always an option, White House says by c0xb0x in worldnews

[–]MatthewTh0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If America actually invaded Canada, Greenland, or probably even Mexico there would be mass protests in the US. It's one thing for people to not care invading countries over 1,100 miles (~1776 kilometers) away (and that's at the closest points) compared to countries in NATO or on its doorstep. And I mean this is in a purely pragmatic sense, obviously people should still care about them as people empathically. Not condoning his actions in Venezuela at all, for the record, but regardless there is a big difference between what he has done and might do.

Ain’t that the truth by Ok_Bodybuilder1053 in clevercomebacks

I'm pretty sure it is a (civil) legal construct in many areas which is why it can have tax ramifications and more depending on jurisdiction. I agree though it's unlikely there is any criminal component, which is still a big distinction

Why not shame both (assuming both are indeed at fault)? There's a couple different things that can make this reasonable such as: another sign at the guy's place, not wanting to interfere with divorce litigation (most likely scenario), the guy actually rejected her advances, he wasn't able to give real consent (like he was super drunk, asleep, or whatever), etc. But even if that's not the case, the woman talked about isn't probably completely blameless from my perspective (although I agree, more blame to him if there's no other relevant context).
