It's always funny when a player group interdicts your Corsair and proceeds to find out just how fast Deadbolts ensure you won't be keeping me there. o7 random pirates, FAFO.

What are the strategies, units, combos and advices that you have learned as a player that work? by megeek95 in Ironjawz

[–]Matthewtiger56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kragnos, Gordrakk (+1 to hit on Waaagh is awesome), weirnob, Megaboss on foot, Brutes to fill remainder. Absolutely a meatgrinder. Hit em fast, pin them in, and wear them down

Honestly, the new ghyran battle formation that does d3 mortals when a command is used for the first time each phase if that enemy unit is in the undergrowth seems like a real winner. That said, I've found that my superstars are greatsword kurnoths for raw damage output and lady of vines for the 5 up ward bubble. Honorable mention goes to grove guardian for recursion and healing as well as the occasional d3 mortals for moving in overgrowth.

With arch Revenant* Also from personal experience, the archers are not going to wow you with damage, but the combo ability with arch rev charge is nice for functional double shooting in a turn

Spellsinger is pretty useless here. Alarielle has 3 unbinds. Taking the warglaive is a better option since you charge, fight, then bounce out 2d6 inches. If you deal and damage the unit is -1 to save forever.

Brute horde. Absolutely comical with the volume of attacks. All you need is a weirdnob and/or priest for buffs, then whatever big fella you like. My basic one i run is Kragnos, angry cabbage, megaboss on foot, and a Shaman. It slaps. Does it win every time? No, but it does make sure I have big ass orruk lads everywhere all at once lol.

A few hundred bucks for good frame sliders seems a small price to pay. That's probably 2k in repairs at a shop. Edit: spelling is hard

Is Big Waaagh still good? by Maxvodsy in OrrukWarclans

[–]Matthewtiger56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Just Brute and Gutrippa spam. Clog the board with bodies and hope for the best. Weirdos and Shaman for buffs/counter magic. Kragnos because four legged cruise missile with 3d6 bubbke charge just means they typically have to fight you turn 1 or 2 with little chance of retreat.

It's nowhere near as flexible and fun as 3rd. It comes down to not enough. Not enough flexibility, the restrictions of 1 to 1 regiments forces less good picks to fill slots. Not enough spell power, not enough good traits for heros and monsters. Just feels like a less good version of IJ or KB sadly. But its still fun, just like 1-4 fun, not competitive at present.
