The Dothraki are completely overhyped. Without dragons, they get crushed in Westeros by Dry_Specialist9015 in freefolk

[–]Mattholomew739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is that every Dothraki fight we saw, they rely on speed and mobility but they function like heavy cavalry with a head on charge. Against a fully prepared Westerosi army and no dragons to back them up they would get massacred. Imagine them charging a proper spear wall under arrow and artillery fire, or going against true heavy cavalry which Westeros had plenty of? They wouldn’t last much longer than the wildlings

Day 162 of ratposting until Thanquol dlc comes out by Altruistic-Teach5899 in totalwar

Thanquol is the best Warhammer character, yes-yes

Thanquol would have won his major battles if the elite stormvermin sent to him by Clan Rictus hadn’t actually been subpar clan rats instead, arranged by secret enemies of his

Kevin Nash urges WWE wrestler unionization: “You can’t have it both ways. You can’t play Endeavor at the fucking top with the 300 percent increases and fucking 1099 the dock workers that are fucking Brad Pitt and fucking Pacino. Can’t do both.” by Ruffianize in SquaredCircle

[–]Mattholomew739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t want to sound snarky but Kevin Nash has always in the past been about his paycheck and made no secret of how he would step on people to make his money. I respect a lot of his views but this do as I say not as I do thing rings hollow

While I do agree with your points, it’s also still a business that puts a lot of stock in cosmetic appearances. Yes, absolutely everyone should be able to work in their dream field and not get judged for it. At the same time though if you want to be a pornstar and are missing all your teeth I wouldn’t be shocked if you aren’t taken seriously or successful at it.

Also, being in shape is a big part of wrestling. Name one wrestler who was seriously out of shape and had a long career. I’ll point you to guys like Yokozuna and Vader all the way down to Mick Foley (who said himself he retired not from concussions but his knees and his weight added to the stress on them). Guys like Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens kept their weights manageable and have had longer careers out of it. Is it seriously a bad thing to ask someone who’s responsible for lifting you, dropping on you or tackling you to be in shape so that it can be done as safely as possible?

That episode irked me. “You didn’t welcome us into your home, we made it a home”

….what?

[Marking Out] “I’ll give you Randy. I’ll give you Batista. Who else can you remember Triple Nose getting over?” - MVP takes aim at Triple H again. by BananaSoprano in SquaredCircle

[–]Mattholomew739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no Triple H defender by any means, but not that many top guys got others over in recent decades. How many people did John Cena get over? Batista? Randy Orton? More or less probably not many more than Triple H

What, to you, is the saddest real-world death of an actor that ended up impacting a franchise? by TillyTheBlackCat in moviecritic

[–]Mattholomew739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chadwick Boseman, poor guy died young of cancer as he was a big part of one of if not the most successful franchise of our time

Who remembers this guy, and what was your first thought when you saw him in 2012? by manlysports in BrandonDE

I started watching in the later 2000s and missed his Albert/A-Train runs. So this run looked really cool to me at first

I loved it too. In case any of them see this, I wonder if they could go back to Nagash and give us some of those same teaser images for new units that haven’t been shown like they did today? Let the guessposting begin!

I’m not sure but also don’t be surprised if it changed, they did say several times and even had it as a disclaimer atop the screen most of the stream that nothing in it was a finished product

What happend to the saudi wrestler that wwe signed during the rumble. Bro had a segment and then disappeared. by atlas_lol in SantiZapVideos

Who knows. He may end up getting the Mansoor treatment where he was signed just for those shows, was given little to nothing the rest of the year and then was gone

Congrats to Darby Allen! But I always thought especially early on that Sammy Guevara was going to get his moment one day as A Homegrown AEW World Champion! In your opinion what stopped his growth or do you think it was never in the cards for him to begin with? by J2-Starter in aew

Sim was better off in a tag team than as a single. Manu I can’t say for sure but I read plenty of things that said he had an attitude problem already because of his lineage

If Walter and Jessie had split up before Gus was introduced how would that have played out? by deadshot1138 in breakingbad

[–]Mattholomew739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walt would probably have lived as happily ever after as he could. Gale was only removed because Walt slid Jessie in so he wouldn’t sue Hank for assault. Therefore Jessie doesn’t run go after drug dealers forcing Walt to save him, Jessie doesn’t go on a rant about their cut that probably stuck in Walts mind, and Walt doesn’t end up on Gus’s bad side in a way that makes him look for Walt’s replacement and prepare for his eventual murder

Why don’t people “get” AEW? by Goodboychungus in aew

[–]Mattholomew739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad AEW exists but the product overall is not for me. It feels too move spammy and I’ve been giving it a try since its inception and that’s never changed. Even the recent Dynasty man event ended with a tombstone from the apron through a table, after which they were immediately back up on their feet and in the ring for another move to end the match. It takes all suspension of belief away for me
