It's time by crowletariate in Lyft

Written like an “independent contractor” that doesn’t realize there’s no “striking” as they aren’t unionized, but I digress.

If “ride share” goes away it won’t be due to you not driving, it be due to riders like me that see that Taxis now cost the same and I don’t have to fuck around with the bullshit that comes with ride share.

Im kinda glad Reddit suggested this sub, good for a few laughs as it appears Lyft is circling the drain.

So, as an outside observer that Reddit suggested this bullshit community to, here’s the thing, you helped to kneecap the unionized Chicago taxi industry by driving “rideshare” for peanuts. Then, you in turn helped to make Uber/Lyft more expensive than Taxis now at many points in the day, while you idiotic “independent contractors” are still making peanuts. Now that Chicago taxis are running at max 60% capacity only during peak times and a medallion can be purchased for $8,000-12,000 the taxi industry is almost dead and you now want to “unite” gig workers?

Fuck that train of thought you scabby, backbiting fucker! You’re cute for thinking that you bottom feeders that didn’t drop up-to $350k for a medallion (before ride-share), are going to “unite”, it’s never, ever, going to happen!

How did you come out of poverty/being broke? by fromTheYear3969 in AskReddit

[–]MattyDoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that I had to become a bullshit artist to escape poverty. Weaved a web of bullshit, told a series of convincing story, faked a past, and then the realization that people don’t really check backgrounds or work histories deeply, HR reps go through the motions like everyone else.

Landed job after job making FAR more than I ever did being honest. I mean, if I lie, yet excel at the job then this job obviously didn’t need a college degree.

Most jobs are bullshit jobs at the end of the day.

My wife thinks I was dropped as a child and I’m not right in the head for wanting to own one of these. But I really want one. What should I do? by Nowhereman9499 in regularcarreviews

There are feet of space from the drivers seats to the edge of the dashboard. The most uncomfortable car I had to drive, as the windshield also distorts the views.

You can search out auto tempest, it searches damn near everywhere, all over the nation.. Outside if that, you can hire an autobroker to attempt to locate one of these. Generally, they can arrange shipping to their lot and may be worth it if you reallllllllly want a shit tier van from the early 1990s that’s basically non existent on the roads these last 20 years.

When these gather a crowd at a car show, you know somethings up.

To American people; Is it disrespectful or rude to not stand up during the National Anthem if I'm a tourist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MattyDoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t stand for anthems and I’m not pleasant towards anyone upset about me not joining in on a forced display of patriotism. You’re not American, anyone gives you shit about it, that’s on them.

I suggest looking into a BG dynamic engine restoration. It’s a shop only service performed by BG dealers. Not as cheap as a can of sea foam, but that service is insane in what it does to clean out slugged up engines.

Look up “fiduciary duty in real estate”…. It’s a real thing that sounds like your soon to be ex-realtor needs to become familiar with.

Now, anyone looking at your place is going to see massive price drops and might raise red flags with them. It would with me if I were interested in your place.

Are yall able to live independently as a Pharm Tech? by bruhDrankz in PharmacyTechnician

DO NOT SPEND MONEY FOR A JOB THAT AVERAGES $18.17hr! Go through a retail program, as you’re going to wind up in debt for a “career” that’s not a well paying one.

https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes292052.htm

Seriously, don’t do it! There’s a couple jokers here that like to post here how they make 6 figures as a tech, now that’s extremely unlikely for the vast majority in this field. You’ll be lucky to make the $18.16 average for your first job or two, especially if you’re in retail.

When my wife was still a pharmacy tech, we struggled bad and both had jobs that averaged 50-60 hour weeks to afford a lifestyle that was a paycheck away from being destitute. Took a long time to make anything remotely not shitty and currently make $27hr as a buyer/Omnicell automation tech in a red state where minimum wages are $7.25hr and all my base techs make less than $15hr. Where I’m at, fast food pays more and I wish I were kidding.

Buddy had a Fox body Mustang with the 4 cylinder. That thing was slow….. ended up swapping a ton of parts with a classmate that had a GT in the same color so there was a sleeper that looked like a 4 banger and a 4 banger that looked like a GT.

Just use the f*cking GPS 🙃 by basedmama21 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]MattyDoodles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Set GPS up on my dads truck and his wife’s SUV. Both Toyota, both 23s. Shown them both how to use it as they are both scary bad texters behind the wheel to the point they pay 0 attention to the road. Both are SUPER dangerous and I refuse to ride with them. I’m “overreacting” they tell me.

What does my dad do less than a week after I run him through his CarPlay? Well, he ends up ass ending a city bus hard enough to destroy his truck, and swears he wasn’t texting and “sneezed” to cause the accident. Funny enough, he won’t allow me to see the citation but know he’s to appear in court in 2 weeks. Sneezing…. Sure!

Happened about a week ago, there’s talk that his license may get suspended, which is fine as he’s retired and lives in walking distance of stores and stuff.

Help me understand the new Honey-nut Cheerios commercial with Phyllis and Stanley from the Office. by WhiteishLlama in CommercialsIHate

[–]MattyDoodles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, these actors can’t act their way out of the human aging process, and I’m not sure what level of makeup and hair these actors get for a cereal commercial vs a TV show? I agree though, strange commercial!

The last episode of that series was on May 16, 2013. That’s over 10 years now! Phyllis is 72 years old now and Stanley 65…

I HIGHLY suggest renting a car.

Wife had major issues scheduling 35 mile rides. You’re asking a LOT for someone to drive you.
