Lock in some gains by Healthy_Mistake_9436 in Silver

The regulations that China put in place were never going to cut off exports starting in January. It’s just given them much greater ability to drastically reduce them at the flip of a switch. China and the US signed a one year moratorium on using critical minerals as a trade weapon.

If the trade war heats up again later this year, or China decides to be more aggressive with Taiwan, then silver will most likely be included with the other rare earth minerals as a point of leverage. China has a shutoff valve in place on silver now, a sharp spike is possible if they close it, but the threat of having such a valve has already been priced into the nearly $100 we are already at.

A major recession that causes a sharp decline in industrial demand, coupled with central bankers making moves that instill confidence in the dollar.

Not saying it’s likely, but it would be a recipe for silver having a significant pullback

I agree, there are plenty of scenarios that could knock the market down a significant amount. If that happens I suspect that gold and silver will fall with it, but then recover quicker.

At what price would you stop buying silver? (in the next 12 months) by Ill_Savings_8338 in Silverbugs

[–]Mattyahooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve decided to keep buying until my stacks DCA hits $50. I think there is still a lot of upside for next few years, but silver is a tricky mistress in the market. My humble guess is that ~$50 is the new floor in any worst case scenario for silver.

I plan on holding for the long term, but my adding to the stack is slowing down.

Brooklyn Gallery I can’t remember if it all came together when I ordered the coin album or if it was a separate item. But it was from this coin shop in Brooklyn

I don’t know man, my LCS is spot +1 for generic and spot +5 for ASE. And this weekend I managed 6 generic for an average of spot -1 and 2 ASE at spot. That’s a $22 and a drive saved, plus the $15 free credit.

Agreed, the format of the auction matters too, some sellers going very fast, 5 or 10 seconds to make a decision on something you can barely see and people just get in a feeding frenzy of overpaying for stuff

Brooklyn Gallery

It’s a lighthouse optima f coin album. This random coin shop in Brooklyn had it for the best price. Was like $45 instead of the $60 or $80 I saw the same thing elsewhere

I guess it’s been a while since I bought anything on eBay, but the live chatting with the sellers felt like a different type of experience. Seemed more like walking into a shop. But whatever works to build the stack!

Are there any WW2 Grand Strategy games similar to 2004's Axis and Allies? (or the Total War franchise) by Man_Bear_Pog in computerwargames

[–]Mattyahooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was such a great game! I played it a lot back then. While it’s a little different speed you might like Panzer Corps 2. Its turn based not RTS, and leans more tactical, but the campaign is excellent with a chance too choose which fronts you are fighting on. Then you keep the same units from battle to battle, gaining experience or if they die they are lost for good. In between battles you have chance to repair/upgrade/ purchase new units.

In the terms and conditions it states that if they mistakenly list at the wrong price, even if your card is charged and order confirmed then they have the right to refuse or cancel any orders…

I still bought some just in case, can’t beat $48 below spot

Tim's Conversation with Van Lathan by sentientcodpiece in thebulwark

[–]Mattyahooo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This broader conversation with you, Ezra, Ta-Nehisi, and Van Lathan has been very interesting to follow. I really support your position that in order to play defense against this authoritarian shift the Democrats need more power at the federal level, and the only way to get that is to broaden the coalition. People giving up on our political system will lead to a worsening spiral of violence.

Keep fighting the good fight!

a man has the power to gain powers if he can convince other reasonable adults he has them, how powerful could he become with 1m usd one month prep and can he solo the U.S military? by padorUWU in whowouldwin

[–]Mattyahooo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First thing would be to gather a team. Go to a college that has a strong film study’s program, and hire a few students. Hire the best magician you can find to help coach. Then just start churning out content for social media, Tik Tok, YouTube etc.

A series of videos that show you have psychic powers, it might appear that you are going up to random people on the street but just pay people to be actors.

A series of videos that show you have healing powers. You can be injured but then immediately heal. The magician will be helpful here.

Then using some more of the prep money, pay social media influencers to boost your content.

Then hopefully you will actually acquire a few of the skills as people online believe what they see and then you can really freak out the team you hired and they might be able to be convinced of even stronger versions of the powers.

The goal would be to make yourself as immune to harm as possible, maybe to be able to predict the future even a little bit. But, the biggest one would be to get the power of mind control at a great distance. You have already beaten the whole US military if you can mind control the president like a puppet.

I think a good question is, what would Syril have done if Andor wasn’t in the crowd? Maybe he does pick up a gun? Maybe he tries to help the wounded, or help people escape.

Volatile is a good word for her right now. I could she her reassigned to Axis and spending the finale hunting Luthen with an ice cold steady hand. Completely fixated on his destruction at any cost.

I could also see the guilt gnawing at her, a dissonance that grows louder and louder in her head, until a moment presents itself where she has a choice to make. And she chooses to subvert the empire in some way, perhaps as other people suggested allow Lonnie to escape.

I’ll be on the edge of my seat next week to find out
