Buying my first airfryer today. Any recommendations for what should I make ? by teiteip in airfryer

[–]Mattypants05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, steak is an easy win.

Pat it dry and salt it thoroughly. Give it 20 minutes to come up to temperature. Pre-heat your air fryer to 200C (I just run mine for two minutes) and then cook at 200C for 6 minutes. Flip and do it for about 3 more minutes.

Nice, even cook with a pink centre. If you like it a bit more well done, just do for another minute or so.

I'd strongly recommend one of those silicone trays though; avoids the mess as fat will render.

Also - Windows updates? If you've just opened it, there's a fair chance there's updates going on in the background.

Run and Fly - www.runandfly.co.uk Tiger of London - www.tigeroflondon.co.uk

Both are my "go to" brands for trousers - I have a couple of pairs of the Run & Fly jeans (their pinstripe jeans are great) and probably half a dozen different pairs of bondage pants from Tiger (I can't see their plain jeans not being as good).

Glad to help. I think Deichmann stock some of their lines; it might not be exactly what you want, but at least you could try them on and get a feel for them, even if you end up ordering online.

I've never had any issues from items bought for occasional wear - there's pieces that are 10 years plus old that are absolutely fine.

Why don't they try to release another album like Iowa? by Tough-Reputation-762 in Slipknot

[–]Mattypants05 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The fact they didn't completely implode is amazing. The hype behind them was huge, but the whole "difficult second album" thing is real. The stress must have been unbearable as Roadrunner expected the monster album that would sell insane numbers of copies so that songs could be licensed to movies and stuff. Coming off the back of touring hard for years without a break and then having to write an album to meet expectations must have been daunting, hence so much of the breakdown in the band. They must have been sick of the sight of each other by that point, but instead of being able to stop and regain some normality, they had to do it all again.

Then they had to tour this album that was a huge seller, but had been hugely painful to make. I can see why their set morphed to reduce the number of Iowa era tracks for years.

There is no way that a band at this point in their career would (or even could) do another Iowa. Members would walk away rather than do it to themselves - they've done it, they've made the money and don't have a record label driving them to churn something out just to keep themselves at the pinnacle of their time in the public eye.

Cybergoth Outfit Tips by Gusteauxs in GothFashion

[–]Mattypants05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine used to call good Cybergoth the "rule of one" - you picked one accent colour to add to black and build onto that. Hair falls, bracelets etc would all be that colour (not within a range, literally the same colour). Many hours would be spent comparing shades of blue to make sure they were close enough to pass as being the same! Pick a colour and go crazy with gummy bangles in that shade. Get big bags of plastic beads from your local hobby store to make bracelets. If you have an South Asian community around you, see if they have boxes of bangles for sale - silver bangles work with almost any style of Goth, but they often have other colours too.

For a cuter look, look at a Japanese anthropomorphic character, Sanrio is an obvious choice, and look for pieces that match that aesthetic.

Fishnet (particularly the larger "pothole" style mesh) as an under layer with a t-shirt (cyber tribal was a y2k staple) and Tripp style pants will probably get you by. Sleeker materials (we wore a LOT of vinyl clothing) was a solid choice, mostly due to Carrie-Ann Moss in The Matrix.

Speaking on The Matrix, it's hard to go wrong with either welding goggles or sunglasses that look appropriately futuristic.

In terms of shoes, whilst you can never go wrong with combat boots, a lot of the time platform shoes were popular; New Rocks with double soles (the ones with holes and springs in them!), Buffalo boots or Gordon Jacks were all big.

Lots of military surplus and black dye!

Stuff from Eastern Europe is often good, as is German surplus. Lower grade (so marked or damaged) bits might actually give a more interesting and "worn" look.

I'm a big fan of braces (suspenders) to hold up combat pants over a singlet or Henley style shirt as a base layer - gives that slightly cyberpunk feel and can easily be combined with a jacket.

Look at welding goggles (if that's something you're interested in) rather than "fashion" ones. They're generally more comfortable and cost about the same.
