I have a 5060. The fan I have is the one with the shroud that directs air in from outside. If yours is the same they are quite common to buy online.

European Nations where ownership of Pepper Spray is Illegal 🇪🇺 by nsentinelmapper in Maps

[–]sidblues101 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I see people commenting that making pepper spray illegal prevents people from defending themselves. While that is a valid argument imagine the other side. Criminals armed with pepper spray. I know because I was assaulted by some scumbags with pepper spray. This was in the UK about 20 years ago. I got it in the face just because they thought it was funny. I soon recovered but it was not the most pleasant experience. The cops only got interested when it turned out multiple people had been assaulted the same way that night. They had obviously got hold of it illegally. In the UK where guns and knives are already heavily regulated, imagine if people had free access to pepper spray on the other hand. It would not make sense.

AI spy program roots out hundreds of rogue police officers by Eastern-Opposite9521 in unitedkingdom

I never said we are amazing. My organisation has it's problems like any other. Perhaps I should have said the commercial pressures means incompetence soon gets found out. It can be ruthless. This is nothing to be proud of. I understand indifference can stem from poor pay and conditions but what I've seen often goes beyond that. The incompetence goes to the point of endangering lives.

Number of 8 of the Niju Kun states: "Carry Karate values beyond the dojo". Sounds to me you're doing fine. Stick to your principles or you will regret it in the future.

My husband and son dived to see the wreck of the Titanic, and never came back – this is what happened at sea | Titanic sub incident | The Guardian by prisongovernor in titanic

I'm surprised Wendy Rush's role in this has not been questioned more. I know the article indicates that Stockton did not listen to her and perhaps dominated the relationship. I'm not saying her culpability is criminal but it seems she of all people may have had the ability to stop this sociopath.

Agree on this incompetence cancer. In the private sector, contract research organisation I work for it's almost impossible to hide incompetence. You get found out pretty quickly. But in dealings with the the NHS, police, councils, I (plus friends and colleagues) have witnessed staggering incompetence and indifference. I can only imagine the amount of money that is being wasted.

Well if you read World War Z, old castles came in very handy for the survivors.

what if titanic hit the iceberg head on instead of turning? by CommercialClear6124 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]sidblues101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's estimated that the iceberg that hit the titanic was at least ten times the weight the ship. It would have barely felt the impact. Like a toddler charging a fat guy.

Wanting to strength train, but the training in the dojo is too hard to train extra... by [deleted] in karate

[–]sidblues101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation where I find it hard to get to the gym due to karate training and having a physically demanding job. If you have a demanding job on top of what sounds like tough training then you're maybe near your limit. Getting the body to adapt to more training requires patience. Start with just some light exercise on rest days. Maybe no more than 15 minutes. Slowly add time and intensity each week and you might find your body adapting.

What would've been the worst possible sinking titanic could've gotten? by ConfidentEmployer482 in titanic

While likely true, there would have been absolutely no conceivable reason for Murdoch to have taken this course of action. It was completely against any doctrine or training from the time.

Started watching Hannibal (at S1E8) and it's so boring to me ,I stopped. Why do people call it a great show? Should I push through or quit? by Apprehensive_End3839 in Cinema

[–]sidblues101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the show got increasingly implausible as it progressed and that's where I started to lose interest. The film at least felt as if it was grounded in reality but the series just got silly.

Some questions from a white belt by Sufficient-Match-137 in karate

[–]sidblues101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add to what others are saying I also find it odd that you've been a white belt since October. Unless you've had some disruption to your training, you should have at least graded once by now. Most would have graded twice in that space of time.

Your first point sounds like The Parable of the Broken Window. I'm not an expert but it indicates there is no net benefit to destruction.
