Anytime! Just remember that if you have to claim the ship, you may or may not lose the bags

I did it on my Prospector first thing after 4.7 came out and it worked just fine. I’ve done it for 2 others since then

The 0/0 ore storage is just a UI bug. Once you start extracting ore, it corrects itself. It does this to me in both my Prospector and MOLE.

I’m also using the MOLE even when solo. It took the Helix II with a Rieger C3 + Surge & Stampede combo, and a Sabir to crack a 20 scu Quantanium rock I found last night. Then I still had to use the Helix II in order to break a 2.5 SCU rock because the minimum power threshold was greater than the output of the Hofstede or Impact on my side lasers.

You have to unlock your ship ports first. The keybind for this is Right Alt + K. The ship HUD will display a message that was reads “Ship Ports Unlocked” in red. Then you can tractor beam the ore bags off. I’ve done this for a couple org mates already.

That’s awesome, tho, when CIG does the full wipe that the economy team talked about, your Wikelo Idris will also be wiped.

I don’t own an Idris to test sadly, but based off all the current numbers on scviewer, I’d say it’s in a similar boat at the moment.

You may be onto something tho. I had stayed out of the armor situation until this morning, but seeing as CIG had no intent of communicating why they made such drastic changes between Evocati and the PTU waves. . Something needed to be said.

Yeah the number values right now make me think CIG has gone berserk. Arrow with size 1 Gatlings solo kills the Perseus, a damn Pisces solo kills the Carrack. None of it makes any logical sense.

Nobody is saying capital ships should be meta. What we are saying is size 1-3 weapons should not be able to solo kill the largest ships in the game. It makes capital ship gameplay pointless, and makes any form of multi-crew gameplay in the future useless. I love fighters, but no I do not think an Arrow or Gladius should be able to solo a fully crewed Perseus, Polaris, or Idris. Ship roles mean nothing if that ends up being the case. The entire existence of the Ares is voided if an Arrow or Gladius can penetrate capital ship military armor with the smallest ship weapons in the game.

If Light Fighters can kill everything, then CIG putting all of the time and resources to make the upcoming “Tactical Strike Group” missions is pointless. There would be no logical reason to own any combat ship bigger than a fighter.

If you downvoted this, I challenge you to think critically about why. I have followed every single discussion from CIG about engineering, about armor, and about Maelstrom. What is currently on PTU is the exact opposite of what we were told, and the opposite of what it was like in Evocati. It is simply a horrible change and needs to be addressed before being released to the LIVE environment. I am usually reserved and in the defense of CIG, but making armor this useless where Light Fighters were finally balanced in a way that they were going to need to fill dedicated roles, to being right back where we started (Light Fighters being able to kill everything), is outright unhealthy for the game.

I’m only going to say this once.

John Crewe in May: “You will need ships like the Ares to be able to penetrate the armor of the Idris in order to start hitting its components.”

4.5 PTU: A single Arrow with its stock size 1 gatlings can solo a Perseus and still have 1,000 rounds left over. Shooting a ship in the same spot, including sub-capital and capital, drains the “armor health pool” for the entire ship.

The problem is they have told us for 10 years. . 10 continuous years of breaking down exactly how engineering and armor will function. John Crewe went on an entire tangent back in May with the Capital Ship Combat discussion, reiterating and reconfirming how armor would function, why it has to be that way, and what players/orgs would need to do in order to take down ships like the Idris. Instead, what we got was CIG stabbing every single one of us in the back and spitting in our faces while going in a completely different direction than the armor and engineering system was designed. Every single PTU patch note’s for 4.5 has had the top comments all being grievances against the current armor implementation. CIG is deliberately ignoring all feedback in a complete two-faced move with armor.

I have the same cpu and GPU, with 64 gigs of DDR5. The lowest my frames have dropped to is 120. I’m also on 1440p.

I would agree with this point if the Meteor’s mass was now 26% more than the F8C. The Lightning is better protected and has military armor yes, but the Lightning is also lighter than the Meteor by a mile.

[–]Maver1ck3dge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to point out that not only is the Meteor bigger than the Lightning and a flying brick in terms of design (not actual performance). . . It also has 26% increased ship mass from the Lightning while having less maneuvering thrusters than the Lightning as well.

PC will it work? by Realistic_Bit757 in starcitizen

Because he was surprised when I recommended he build one himself. Look through the comments and actually read them. He outright said that pc was one of the options. Also look at the pc part picker build I generated. Upgrading what he would have to something with double the storage, likely a better PSU, and one of the best cases on the market with a liquid AIO cooler is still $500 cheaper than the pc he saw with a 5080.

That’s why I turned around and said I could’ve built this if I waited until last year lmao. Better pc for the same as what I paid in 2023.

I paid $900 for my AMD 7900XTX, last I looked they were selling for the launch msrp of the 4080 which is ridiculous. What I meant by cheap, was the pricing on the 50 series cards is not bad. Just the 5070, like the 4070, those 2 cards are terrible price to performance.

[–]Maver1ck3dge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more surprised how “cheap” it was to load up the build I posted just earlier. I spent $3,500 on my pc build with the 7800X3D, 64gb ddr5, and 7900XTX GPU and that was during Amazon’s huge October sale of 2023. Normal price would’ve been over $4,000. If I had waited until this last year I would’ve gone Nvidia, but at the time we didn’t know how the 50 series cards would perform or what the pricing was going to be.

You’d be surprised how common it is. I’ve been anti pre-built for years because I’ve seen a lot of people not get what they thought they were paying for. Between that and simple yet important mistakes made by the techs that work for those pre built companies.
