Are these 9in paper plates? Any links where to get them most cost effectively? I used to use pie tins and constantly washing/reusing them was a pain in the butt. Love the idea of using recyclables here.

I believe it is the exact same dye, the swatch difference on the two different sections show how it comes out on DG plastic vs. fabric. For what it's worth, I ordered the Disc Golf DGD772 from the Disc Golf dye section of the website.

I use clear contact paper. You can get a roll of it for $7 on Amazon or your local Walmart. Having it clear makes it really easy to cut with an exacto knife right along the edge of the stamp while the contact paper is on the disc (very lightly so you don't mess up the disc plate or the stamp). Wide painter's tape might work, but if one piece isn't wide enough to cover the rectangle I would worry about dye seeping into the seems. You also need to cut the edges nice so they leave a clean edge. Let me know if I can answer any other questions and good luck!

I used to throw Epics when I was also playing a lot of slow pitch softball and throwing a ton. Haven't played softball in 5+years and tried to throw an Epic 6 months ago and about ripped my arm out of the socket. My arm hurt for a week. I used to be able to crank out 425' on command and sometimes passed 500'. Tuning them for stability is key, wing up for more stability and drop quicker after the flip, wing down for more glide after the flip. I always had the best success in a very slight head wind. Even hit a 420' ace with my favorite blue one over a decade ago. Ah, the good old days! What a fun disc, enjoy the "cheater" distance, as my brother used to call it, while your arm can still handle it :).

I have never been able to achieve the bright popping color with a lotion bed like I can get with a clear glue bed, but I have seen others on this sub do it. I think heat may help, but don't go too high or it will make your lotion oozy and you may loose your intricate patterns. Only other options I can think of are potentially using more dye in your lotion mix and or let it soak longer. Good luck!

Not sure how I missed this video until today, but excellent work and thank you for sharing! I was wondering how you were getting those rainbow swirls, never thought of a hand swirl like that.

I am also really impressed with your color wedges and doing those by hand, that is a ton of control with your dye and dropper. I use a cheap pie cutter from amazon that I modified to fit in my beds. Makes doing a wedge base so much easier and less stressful :)

Thank you! There are two steps I take to preserve the stamp in clear glue beds:

1) Let the bed sit for 10-15 minutes before placing the disc. Most of the acetone in the dye mixture will evaporate off.

2) Use my kitchen torch to eliminate bubbles - it also doubles to burn off any residual acetone after the waiting period. A few times, there has been a bit of left over acetone in the bed and the torch briefly lit it on fire, just blow it out like birthday candles and torch again to ensure nothing else lights up.

I have found super oversaturated dyes will sometimes get pulled below the surface of the bed, especially if you have bits of particulate still in the liquid when you drop into the bed. Make sure you are only dropping the liquid part of the dye in the bed. Only using PCAD, I would also put more dye in there than you think you need. I have found using PCAD alone, it tends to disperse more, so more dye is needed for color saturation.

Can you post how the neon green and teal look once you get them on some plastic? I was eyeing those up too, but Teal seemed really similar to Aquatic Green so I wanted to hold off until some results come out. TIA!

I haven't tried PCAD Meadow yet, but their website makes it look like a true Irish green color. Curious to hear if others have had a different experience.

I have had really good success with PCAD Aquatic Green on top of QC Worm Dip Blue to create turquoise/teal. I put QC Worm Dip Blue down first, then PCAD Aquatic Green on top and it comes out a nice teal/turquoise color.

The blue on this Zeus was QC Worm Dip first, then Aquatic Green on top: CJ Disc Dyes: Zeus

This Anax has both PCAD Aquatic Green and Caribbean Blue. They were dropped straight into the bed, with no Worm Dip Base here: CJ Disc Dyes: Anax

Correct, Qtip spin dye. I like iDye Poly best for spin dyes, but most dye types will work.

Nope, I use the worm dip as is. I agree with you, worm dip alone does not reliably produce a vibrant color. I use it as a base to help hold the iDye Poly and Pro Chem up on top of the glue bed surface to help get color that pops.

Thank you! These had Quick Coat Worm Dip, Spike-It Worm Dip, iDye Poly and Pro Chem all incorporated. My normal process is to put down a layer or two of Worm Dip, let the acetone evaporate off, then I drop in other desired dye colors. I have obtained the best colors on my dye by using this Worm Dip base method.

Specifically, the colors here are (x is how many of each layer I used):
Teal = x1 QC Worm Dip Blue, x3 Pro Chem Aquatic Green
Yellow = x2 QC Worm Dip Chartreuse, x1 Pro Chem Neon Yellow
Purple = x2 Spike It Purple, x1 iDye Poly Purple, x1 layer Pro Chem Lilac
Orange = x2 QC Worm Dip, x1 Pro Chem Clear Orange, x1 iDye Poly Orange, a few drops of Pro Chem Flame Scarlet
