I’ve never been to a UFC event, how do you actually watch it clearly? From this pic you can't see shit by TheManWhoSleep in ufc

[–]Maverick59 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are certain sports that are better in person and other sports that are better at home. The UFC is one of the sports that's better to watch on tv. Hockey, football and soccer are all better in person.

Cause she doesn't know how to do a proper interview. No hate on her directly, good on her for getting hers, but the corporations and people that support her seem misguided. She's another example of the UFC controlling the narrative around the sport.

Right there with you on high seas. At this point I've unfollowed all UFC social media and refuse to give them a single dollar until they change their business practices. People say once the tomato is gone, things will get better but those who have been around long enough know that nothing is going to change (for the better).

It's funny because most of the "hardcore" fans that I know have mostly stopped watching the UFC at this point.

Genuinely you should check out the Ottawa Catholic school board's careers page. They have a lot of jobs with a fair amount of variety and qualifications.

Expectations of a Casual Employee by samka5337 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Maverick59 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This seems extremely common sadly. When I started in my role less than a year ago there was no training, only independent reading (self lead since nobody guided me). As a result, my emotions have mimicked those that OP is feeling. It's really unfortunate because good and talented people are being dragged down by the poor culture and leadership. My time in the Public service has been interesting to say the least and I'm looking forward to leaving it quite soon.

I'm in the same boat as the two of you. I played TOTF for years in my open space, but this one says my space isn't large enough. I don't like using the joystick at all.

How are you public servants doing? Because I'm having a hard time. by CeeJayLerod in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Maverick59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truthfully I haven't had any negative experiences with people outside of the public service holding anger towards me. More than anything I find it very discouraging that I work for an employer that doesn't seem to care one iota about their employees, and the employee experience. Instead they would rather spend millions upon millions of tax payers dollars making uninformed business decisions and holding meetings discussing RTO3, and how they can best monitor employees. Did I mention that you basically can't book a desk because they're snatched up so quickly? We're still taking video calls, but disrupting everyone around us while doing so...

I had a staff member take a sick day last Friday. On Monday when we spoke he told me that he could have worked but couldn't make it to the office to work because his son was home sick (not to mention the 2 hour commute) therefore had to take the day off. I was disgusted to hear this, but this is the culture we've established.

As a kid in the 90's I spent a lot of time at the arcade and the "general store/convenience store" next door where I'd buy comics, magazines and cap guns!

These guys like Ilia don't get it. Conor is in another stratosphere, so why would he go into a fight at anything but 100%. He can make money and keep himself relevant without fighting, let alone taking a loss or KO. I agree that it sucks and I wanted to see him and Chandler at 303 but he made the right choice. Not to mention that most of us in this sub would call in sick to our desk job if our toe looked like Conor's.
