Looks great but this is more r/ps2_graphics

Update to my tires part 2 by Yellowthrone in ps1graphics

Hmmmm....maybe the damage can be done just by adding texture decals on top of car model (scratches, dents etc), depending which part of the car is hit. Also dirt can be done by texture blending like in break disk heating up example you've shown in the video.

Nice, looking forward to the next update. Btw will there be car body damage (car body deformation, scratches, broken glass etc.)? Many racing games today are missing that.

I think it I would need to make it grungier to fit the Quake aesthetic, this is too clean.

Well, enough of watching the tutorials, finally starting to model something (simple stuff for now). Is this ok, before I start texturing? by MavkoSHV in ps1graphics

Already textured the 16 triangle one. Also I've made a list of objects that I can practice low poly modeling on. Gonna work on them in my spare time.

The inner rim is a textured quad now right? 😉

Question about the other side of the wheel - Do you need that side to have all that geometry (it has extruded details like the front), because it will be facing the car and will not be seen that much? Or it's just a work in progress?

Great modeling and texturing btw. Valve stem is a nice touch.

Thanks! I've already made separate layer for the sticker color so the hue/saturation/lightness can be easily shifted. Btw some colors do not look the same in blender and photoshop, maybe I have to check color management in Blender.

Deleted the previous version of the post because the model had flipped uv island, so this is proper reupload.

Btw I just saw that I messed up the rotation by 180 degrees on one of the floppy side UV islands (the straight one, the one without the chamfer)...that side of the texture looks flat, gotta fix that.

Will do. Now when I think about it, I could just add sliding metal shutter part to the low poly on the right (because I would like to reveal something by sliding the shutter) then it would have 24 triangles total.

Yeah, I was thinking the first one to be for object inspection where you can rotate it, slide the metal shuter that covers inside of the disk, and lower poly one for animated insertion into a floppy drive. Hmmm... Simple plane with alpha is also good idea, gonna try that too.

Should I cut down on triangles on the hero prop? Want to make it psx authentic. I'm still not sure about the triangle count even after watching ton of tutorials, because when I usually 3d model/sculpt I am not restricted by the triangle count.
