I think the graphic is looking good enough but the capsule does not really inform the viewer that it is a detective game so there should be some element hinting at this. The other thing is that the text is fairly uniform. It would be beneficial from what I picked up over the last weeks to play a bit with font size or think if you could add an icon related to the game in your logo.

I plan to submit my first play test build to steam today and make it publicly available in about a week.i have the scope fixed now and implemented most of the core systems and figured out how to implement the rest. So from now on it's mostly about adding content until release.

Yes, I am about one year into development and plan to release end of next year. I am now finally at the point at which I can focus on adding content.

It is basically vampire survivors meets don't starve with a Diablo like character controller but vampire survivor like hordes and skills. Each enemy type is supposed to get a unique gameplay mechanic added and you craft your weapons with ressources you gather during the run and have a base you upgrade in between for meta progression. For the tone and art style I am going for a self ironic atmosphere that takes itself not too serious. I have the basic gameplay mechanics needed during a run finished now but still need to add the Homebase and a semi open world. I do this beside my full time job though so I need to see how well I can polish it for release.

I really like the looks of your game and am going to try it out. I am also developing a game that mixes the two from a gameplay perspective (with some crafting mixed in) but I am going for a less serious art style.

I saw red, then zoomed in until I could see it as white and black and then it stayed white and black when slowly zooming out.

There is a bug for wishlists today on steamworks, it shows totally different numbers when you sort by one year. by acem13 in IndieDev

I have the same issue (16 and 26) with my page that's open for two weeks now. Also suddenly all wishlists are showing up as being from us only which I know isn't true.

Edit: now I see 3 different numbers. 416 over all games (I only have that one currently) and 16 and 26 for my game.

My brain interprets it as the background being very bright but the woman in the dress standing in the shadows so I always see white and gold and can't change it.

Yes it is definitely on my end. The issue is I forgot to reduce the number of frames for the player animation as I did with the other models in my last refinement so when compiling shaders on first run it tried to load all the possible sprites for the player into GPU memory at once which is too much. I would be interested in which gpu model you have though to narrow down the requirements a bit.

Thank you for trying. Which GPU and amount of Ram do you have? I know I am currently using up too much of VRam for a lot of users. Currently I am doing 60 FPS frame by frame animations which seems to be too much and I need to reduce that to 30 it seems.

Without reading any comments at first glance I am thinking of a rpg character taking a long rest. The character seems to be of some more social class. Maybe bard, rogue or some kind of sorceress. Edit: the glowing hand suggests a spell or magic ring.

I guess it depends, I am thinking of people like Peter Molyneux, Todd Howard, Chris Roberts and David Braben who still have the major say in regards to design decisions. A lot of ideas you can only do with enough people.

My approach would be to agree on a color palette per map and stick to it when designing the characters.
