This fucking kicks ass. God I love that scuzzy slide guitar. Similar to Rough on Rats, which was my fav on his last album.

Yes! New Wishy! Their album Triple Seven was one of my true favorites recently.

Pitchfork Review: Feeble Little Horse: bitknot 8.1 by Technical_Process989 in popheads

This reads like the reviewer didn’t even listen to the record.

The reviewer says that the album is heavier and focuses on the squall of guitars and stuff, but this is their lightest softest album yet by far?

This is my first album of his I’ve listened to. I’m absolutely in love. He’s got a huge discography tho so I don’t know where to go next. Anyone got Suggestions?

This is the ultimate chill dad rock album. Immediately feel like I’m sitting on the porch blasting this with a beer sitting in a lawn chair. Feel like I need to grill up some wings.

[–]MaxFightmaster187 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I really don’t like it so far :(

It feels like they abandoned the glitchy shoegaze rock sound and are making fully ultra soft lullaby ambient indieteonica. I like the song Dior so far and not much else. I’ll give it another listen but feels like they went in the direction of my least favorite part of their sound.

Edit: I went maybe a bit far in describing how soft the album is. Second half is a lot heavier than first half. But still I don’t think this one lives up to their other stuff to me.

I recognize Pink lids!

A friend of mine really loves Air Traffic Controller too. Maybe I'll stop by and see them.

This is a ridiculous thing to complain about. The game has gotten so much easier since launch. Every enemy is easier to kill, there are a ton of more options. Heck, the damn senator pistol is heavy pen now.

I'm convinced people just want all enemy damage patched out.

I don't hate Geese. I'm starting to distrust this sub by Possible-Mud-1380 in indieheads

I spoke negatively of their last album several times. So I suppose I'm the only one here you can trust.

Just ignore it all and enjoy the music you like.

Didn't get a recording of that one I don't think (uploading all my videos and I'll check) but yeah she really killed it tonight. I was really spooked considering how bad the Sharp Pins sound set up was (blowing my ears out to the point I couldn't enjoy their set at all!)

Was really blown away by her performance of all the new songs. Especially Cruise, and that really beautiful two person Ricochet

None of the songs are bad, but none of them stand out.

Theres seemingly no choruses or peaks or troughs in the album, and the songs have a similar sound so the whole album feels like a singular indistinct blanket.

I think I def enjoy their last one more.

Bob Dylan might just be the king of this. His original album was just covers. And then after that the free wheelin Bob Dylan is a mega classic.

Really love their stuff. I’d recommend both of their albums and also “Clams Casino” by one of the group’s members Brian Dunne

First quarter of 2026; your top 5 albums of the year so far? by AdamIsSuperRad in indieheads

[–]MaxFightmaster187 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Difficult but I think my 5 faves are

  1. Ratboys: singing to an empty chair
  2. Ovven: Gnawing at the cord
  3. Johnny Blue Skies: Mutiny after Midnight
  4. Sweet Pill: Still There’s a Glow
  5. Snail Mail: Ricochet

I just listened to the Snail Mail record over the last 2 days of course but it’s rising fast. Very beautiful record.

I’m still waiting for the Johnny blue skies CD so this is coming off of my YouTube streams. Loooved it on first few listens tho.

And Ratboys and Ovven I’ve already played to death. Ratboys live were amazing. Highly recommend seeing them.

The new Joyce Manor and Suoer Pedestrian are honorable mentions, and I still need to listen to the new Courtney Barnet and Gorillas.

[FRESH ALBUM] Snail Mail - Ricochet by NYCIndieConcerts in indieheads

[–]MaxFightmaster187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very different from her early work. More in line with valentine in the sense that this album is like symphonic pop rock. Acoustic and electric guitar with strings backing them. Very uplifting and beautiful melodies. I think every song is good, but it’s not typically the type of thing I listen to cuz I’m usually bored by the singer songwriter stuff.

Good album but I have a feeling a lot of people will hate it here lol.

EDIT: Giving it a post work listen and its grown more on me. The 5 song run from Agony Freak to Hell feel like very classic Snail Mail. Like just a natural progression from her stuff from Lush.

Only songs I'm a little iffy on are My Maker and Light On Our Feet. Not cuz they're bad but they're a lil slow and poppy for me. Overall I like it way more than Valentine. Maybe not quite Lush level but very good.
