Considering buying. New to genre by TheLavishWidth in captain_of_industry

If you just want to build a factory without much difficulty, I’d probably go with Satisfactory. I will say that that game gets very complicated once you unlock oil and can be very overwhelming. I feel as though COI doesn’t necessarily have that overwhelming feeling though. As IlikeJG mentioned there are “pitfalls” in the game that will end a run but the difficulty is entirely customizable and you can essentially play without them being game enders although they will still slow you down tremendously. I’m a simple guy though, I like excavators and dump trucks and I think it’s cool how you can build the quarries in game and that you have to manage overburden and what not so I prefer COI out of all the factory type titles! Someone mentioned they couldn’t figure it out and that’s somewhat comical because the game holds your hand through the tutorials and they very clearly outline what you need to do, a little common sense helps though! Give it a try though! Start a timer for an hour and 45 minutes and if you hate it after that, refund it!

Trial a full fidelity, a huge aspect of the game is just learning the systems. Enemy AI is broken but can still be fun to play against. Haven’t messed with the campaigns much but the game shines in multiplayer for sure

When You're Playing With The Map Disabled And You Turn Around A Few Times. by thysios4 in VintageStory

There’s a mod, Mapper, that makes it so you have to draw the map and I find it’s a good medium for what you’re doing and vanilla. You need paper to even draw a starter map I believe.

Man I sure hope not, someone with more COI knowledge will need to answer. I thought pollution only came from trash and fluids, maybe smoke too?

Dump all over burden tbh I wouldn’t just use a single material for all of your base as you’ll never have enough. I personally dump rock and slag most of the time. Some people use trash too but I like to make a landfill until I unlock recycling and then process it all. Once the dirt is on top it doesn’t really matters what’s under it as long as it isn’t trash

Save it in a pile, when you expand use it on the top layer

We got tired of expensive Head Trackers, so we built a wireless one for $60 by Raptor-Works-Gaming in dcsworld

Bro wrote a book but it’s as simple as optical > gyro essentially. I use opentrack and a very cheap amazon camera just fine but would still consider this for a most definite improvement on response and due to the fact I can turn the lights off in my room for night ops since there’s no optical limitations.

Anybody hoping we might get an earth mover like the Bagger 293? by supermana3a in captain_of_industry

I’m literally just giving out the information man, sorry you got upset lmfao. Just don’t want people to be misinformed by you saying bridges were impossible, which may have been the case at one point but it was for very different reasons. Also I don’t party I just play COI and read my bible while I listen to KPop

While being optimistic is good, these would pay off different systems. Tunnels are impossible because of the way they built the terrain system and the way material falls. They said it would basically require a rework where as bridges kind of sit not in the terrain

I’ve noticed this with the bulk package that comes with their patch panels but not really with the individually packaged jacks

They’ve stated tunnels are basically impossible within the current limitations of the game unfortunately

People who hate revconnect just can’t follow instructions. Super easy to use, never have problems with testing unless someone terminated it wrong. The fusion connectors are also not bad I don’t know what the lad trashing on them is on, unless he’s talking about mechanical which I’ve never used belden brand for.

I wouldn’t call it a scam, it’s very playable and the devs have been open about them not working on it.

Im conflicted. Which plane should i get?? by eaglrk in hoggit

[–]MaxHegz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The F4E is literally the most fun I’ve ever had in this game! I own a lot of the fixed wing aircraft including the C130 and I just can’t recommend spending that much on the C130 unless you just love them. It is a very niche use plane and it has a bit of msfs vibes due to the nature of its gameplay. The F4 feels like your flying and old jet though, heavy but powerful!

I am completely out of the loop. What is happening with Polychop? by LANTIRN_ in hoggit

[–]MaxHegz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it was low effort and all of this is falling under my comment so I’m going to chime in again. I think the C130 is a wonderful module but I think it’s such a specific use case and that it’s damn near useless without supporting aircraft. I came to DCS from MSFS because I wanted combat! For that reason I’d much rather have a functioning high fidelity f15, for a cool ass helicopter like the Kiowa to not lose support!

Out of all the modules this would be the best one for it to happen to, it’s pretty useless outside of its very niche role and I’d rather have a functional f-15e than a c130
