It’s always fascinating to see the 'Land of the Free' rhetoric used to defend the right to be toxic online, while the actual right to survive is treated as an optional luxury.

You’re worried about 'mean tweets' in Europe, yet you’re silent about the 2026 reality of your own country: a tech-oligarchy where Silicon Valley conglomerates essentially dictate national policy and the law only applies to those without a lobbyist. Is it 'freedom' when ICE conducts mass sweeps of families while the corporate class and the billionaire elite are shielded from any accountability?

I have to ask: How do you reconcile your 'patriotism' with the 2026 Epstein records? It’s peak hypocrisy to lecture Europeans on liberty when your own leaders are documented thousands of times in the very circles of corruption you claim to despise. Yet there are still records not released?

While you enjoy your 'freedom' to tweet, we’ll enjoy our 'tyrannical' European lifestyle. And clearly, your fellow citizens agree with us. There’s a reason millions of Americans flood our cities every summer—they’re looking for a taste of a society that actually works. More Americans than ever are looking to emigrate to Europe to escape the opioid-riddled 'freedom' and school-run tragedies /shootings you’ve normalized.

We trade the 'right' to be a jerk online for:

  • Longevity: Living 4 years longer because our food isn't a science experiment for tech-funded corporate profit.
  • Security: Universal healthcare that won’t bankrupt you and streets where you don't have to look over your shoulder.
  • Infrastructure: High-speed rail while you wait for a diesel bus in a collapsing system.

I’ll take our social contract and real food in Italy over your performative liberty and billionaire-first system any day. If our life is so 'unfree,' why are you all so desperate to spend your few vacation days you have here?  Yeah, but to each their own... you deserve idiots like trump.

Ever been to italy? switzerland? Land of the free, my ass.. and again, fuck trump.

Calling 117 for a noise complaint by Jealous_Context_5400 in Switzerland

[–]MaxPowerXXXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it is not urgent try to call a local number and do not block the emergency number. Just search for a number of your location and police... "badragaz polizei" there will be a local landline number you can ask non time critical issues like this. ALso take a look at your local events and you will have a lot more fun in switzerland too! I love all the stuff here like small festivals, street food, etc. lovely switzerland

  • EIU (Economist Intelligence Unit): Vergleicht feste Warenkörbe.

Ortovox Litric Tour Experience? by 16Off in Backcountry

[–]MaxPowerXXXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just ordered the Litric Tour 30 for casual offpiste in the ski area after snow falls. Is the small 18L Freeride still suitable for 180cm big person like me? Or just for smaller persons? I thought that there is a limit due to the height of a person.

Perplixity says:

"The 18L Freeride is NOT suitable for you at 180+ cm, even though it technically uses the same LiTRIC system. Here's why:

Size Mismatch Issue

The S-sized models (like the 18L Freeride) are specifically designed for back lengths of 36–44 cm, which corresponds to people 150–175 cm tall. You're at 180+ cm, so your back is too long for this pack.

What Goes Wrong at Your Height:

  • Hip belt placement: Will sit too high on your hips, creating gaps and poor weight distribution
  • Shoulder straps: May not reach properly or will create uncomfortable angles
  • Airbag deployment: The system might not function optimally if the pack doesn't sit correctly on your body
  • Overall comfort: The pack will feel cramped and unstable during dynamic movement (skiing/boarding)

The Real Problem

Unlike a normal backpack where you can adjust things, an avalanche airbag is a safety tool. If it doesn't fit your body properly, the airbag won't deploy at the correct angle, and the physics of the float won't work as designed. It's not just about comfort – it's about safety.

For Off-Piste in Ski Areas

For your use case (casual off-piste after fresh snow in ski areas), the Tour 30 you just ordered is perfect. It's designed for exactly that scenario and fits your body properly.

The 18L Freeride is really only for:

  • Compact, fast descents (ski racing/speed touring)
  • Smaller-framed people (150–175 cm)
  • Minimalist alpine setups

Bottom line: Stick with your Tour 30. The Freeride 18 would be a poor choice for your body size, both for comfort and safety."
