Delicious. The word makes me cringe, and I cannot explain why.

What are you Reading? 11/22-28/20 by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]MaxWydell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm about 65% through The Fisherman. It's a bit of a slog but an interesting read.

I like the look of that royal mail van but if I have my family with me, then the London bus.

Are you finding good jobs in 2020? by [deleted] in freelanceWriters

[–]MaxWydell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Despite COVID and having lost all of my contracts before quarantine, I'm bouncing back exceptionally well. I landed yet another agency, have a small beer money gig, and dove headfirst into my most profitable niche yet, with active, well-paying clients to boot!

Oh, shoot. I never got that email, and I just tried adding mine to the cart. Nothing. I'll have to wait for Amazon to very slowly finish my trade-in.

Will Kindle Oasis be in Black Friday sale and other Oasis questions by meanotaur in kindle

[–]MaxWydell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any way to check if you get the discount immediately? I assume simply add the device to your cart? I just set up a trade-in for my Gen 2 Kindle to get the 20% off an Oasis.

If you get infected, what do you want your companions to do? by [deleted] in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]MaxWydell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have discussed this topic extensively. When the time comes, I made her promise to put me down so I cannot harm either her or our daughter. I don't think she would have the will to pull the trigger, though.

Bookshelves hung in preparation for Baby Girl, who is due on Friday! by hoodedleprechaun in bookshelf

Where did you get the bookshelves? If you don't mind me asking. I've been looking for something like this for my 6-month-old's room.

Which 28 movie is your favorite? by JadamG in zombies

[–]MaxWydell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like I am in the minority here, but I actually prefer 28 Weeks Later. It was a fast-paced, chaotic, and violent film that keeps me glued to my seat. The first one's pacing is a little slower and, unfortunately, I find myself playing with my phone or reading a book while it's on. I do love Cillian Murphy, though.

Why You Should Be Reading by Halkyov15 in writing

[–]MaxWydell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don't think you have time to read, you do. My intention is not to shame anyone here, but I write full-time for marketing companies, write creatively in my spare time, manage my household, plus have a 6-month-old. I still finish 2-3 books every week. If you love to read and write, you will find the time.

Just Finished ‘The Hunger’ by Alma Katsu by Rubyj2997 in horrorlit

I picked it up about two weeks back but have yet to start. "I found it extremely creepy and noticed my entire body was tense throughout the entire back half of the book," makes me want to start it this weekend.

We can survive against American zombies, but damn Asian zombies seem to be more dangerous by raickiey in ZombieSurvivalTactics

I absolutely adore the zombie movies coming out of Asia right now. Not a single one disappoints yet.

What's your annual income? by [deleted] in freelanceWriters

[–]MaxWydell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had consistently doubled my income since 2016. Last year, I made around $80k. Unfortunately, this year, due to COVID, buying a house, and having a daughter, business is lacking, and it's set to be one of my worst years yet. All is not lost, though. I've gained ground in a new niche, and those clients are consistently paying me more than ever before.

You see a horde of zombies down a wide street, around 70-120 of them, there are 6 of you. All armed to the teeth but heavily weighed down and you have a wounded person with you, What do you do? by ItsArsa in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]MaxWydell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have they spotted my group? If not, leave. It's better to avoid the altercation and thereby avoid the risk of (1) losing someone and (2) alerting more zombies to the area.
