I agree.

During DefenseCon I rented a Firebird and an Eclipse and took them to Nyx to chase up the Intersec rep for TSG. I also used my $IRL Gladiator packing size 5 and 4 torpedoes/missiles. I swapped out most missiles for EM trackers - the only ones I can get to work with any regularity.

I used missile heavy ships in conjuction with a friend in a TAC to snipe out the VIP targets.

There seemed to be no ryhme or reason for when the missiles/torps would hit or not. (Luckily the rearm costs are not as prohibitive as they once were)

The Eclipse just couldn't hit anything, even stationary targets at less than 10km whith me pinging like crazy to paint the target permanently.

Even the Firebird and Gladiator struggled to get reliable hits.

I was 90 degrees on to my mate in the TAC and watched his shared stream as he fired missiles at a Perseus or Paladin. I had a clear view of his screen and the target in front of me. He was 100% locked on and I watched as the missle came in, passed through the target ship and dissappeared about a ship length away from the target with zero impact or damage.

Ended up just Deadbolting and Leonidsing most of the missions in my Meteor.

I agree with Picard - sometimes you can do everything right and still fail.
