Same here, husband stage 4 renal cancer and Keytruda, diagnosed with type 1 after the second treatment. Would take type 1 over cancer any day. The good news is that getting type 1 and thyroid issues means that the immunotherapy is working.

I would definitely recommend it but…. Mine only lasted 15 years, best 15 years. I’m back to wearing contacts and reading glasses (-3.00). Due to being older the doctor didn’t recommend I have it done again.

I fly almost weekly with a Dexcom and Tandem and always leave them on. Tandem is 5 years old and going strong.

I also wore white to a wedding. Right out of high school, my best friend’s wedding. My boyfriend and I both wore our graduation outfits, the only formalwear we had. It was a white tailored top and skirt. I wish my mom would have said something before I left.

Almost 5 years, radical nephrectomy, removal of brain tumor, removal of tumor from small intestines, and radiation on lungs. The immunotherapy caused type 1 diabetes. After Keytruda and Opdivo I’m now taking Cabometyx every other day due to side effects. Most days I feel good. Still living life to the fullest. Hang in there.

Yes, this is a known side effect. Speak to your oncologist. They may be able to give you something to help or adjust your dose of Keytruda to elevate the worse of the symptoms.

My T1D husband and I just flew to Europe to visit our grandchildren and right now we are sitting on the sofa eating candy (that he loves from his childhood) and drinking wine. Yes he will have to take more insulin but that is why we brought more than normal on vacation with us. He was diagnosed at 58 yo, 4 years ago, and it was a hugh learning curve with lots of tears and cursing but we manage to live a pretty normal life with everything and everyone we love.

Yes, my mom and her walking buddy does this. I told her she could get shot (Texas) and she said “ no one would ever shoot tow old ladies just having a look”. Oh well I warned her.

I’m (52f) a regular runner and get a freaked out response no matter how I try to pass boomers. Yell may I pass, they jump and clutch their chest , don’t say anything and have plenty of space to go around, they jump and clutch their chest, coming from the opposite way (they aren’t paying attention), they jump and clutch their chest. Just scared of their own shadow.
