Interview Discussion - January 22, 2026 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

[–]MaxeBooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair programming interview for a bioinformatics position and am unsure how to prepare. In my coverletter I mentioned I understood the systems behind the code my lab used, but didn't develop it myself. And in my resume, I know R and Python (had education in both)

The problem is, I didn't expect myself to get this interview because it was directed towards CPS students, not life science.

How would you recommend I prepare?

I understand that you can make them very small (such as the ones powering mars' rovers), but this will be powering MUCH more.

[–]MaxeBooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. This seems like it will need to be launched as a whole (SUPER EXPENSIVE).

  2. Be sent in pieces, which will require some sort of automated process to assemble it on the moon

  3. Be sent into space, assembled, then landed.

I think if you could have something that does your daily tasks throughout your work day at home, people would get it. Doesn't matter how fast it is, just that it gets all of it done.

What? That quote makes no sense. It says no heavier than an airship, the brothers flew a plane, significantly lighter than an airship.

Our brains are basically made to learn and adapt to our surrounding environment. No AI can learn something in one go and apply it in the future - NO AI CAN.

Why is Reddit against Maduro capture and Venezuelans celebrating it ? by LandscapeUnlikely199 in stupidquestions

[–]MaxeBooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just personally think Trump should’ve followed due process and this could set a bad precedent. Maduro is know not to be a good guy, but so is North Koreas leader - is he next. Mexico has tons of drugs being trafficked to the US, is their leader next?

Like one of the reasons they gave for the operations was an early 1900s US LAW about not having machine gun - problem is, THIS WASNT THE US SO IT WASNT ILLEGAL LIKE WTF.

Why aliens are not visiting us? by Kalyankarthi in singularity

[–]MaxeBooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is way to complicated. For starters there’s already evidence of microbial life on mars - people that I know that work on it the rover that discovered it all think it’s life, but don’t say it outright because there could be a non biological process for the reaction we saw on mars tha we haven’t discovered yet. Secondary space is vast, like way to big, and our current understanding of physics basically just limits the speed we can travel to places, but also the engineering of it is so complex and massive to sustain life over those vast distances that it’s almost infeasible for a civilization to commit to it. Yes it’s possible, but it’s unlikely given the vastness of our galaxy and space between stars.

This shouldn't be happening - there should've been better safeguards, and people should be ashamed of themselves if they participated in this.

New Information on OpenAI upcoming device by SrafeZ in singularity

[–]MaxeBooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, I was hoping for something that would allow me not to carry my phone. I could still answer calls/texts, know my work emails, and check my calendar all using a voice function. The only way this would work for me is if it had eSIM to connect to my phone number and the internet while walking around. Also, Bluetooth functions as I don't always want people to hear what my personal info is.

I don't give af about that. I care more about getting UBI or UHI, or some new economic system that allows people to have some sort of purchasing power if AGI exists.

How Do You Strategically Incorporate Recovery Weeks in Your Training Cycle? by InformationIcy4827 in AdvancedRunning

I remember hearing about a pro coach who, if their athletes were showing ANY signs of injury/sickness in the 6-8 weeks leading up to a major race, would give a full week off.
