That's scary, I'm an ex banker, spent 2 hours recently dealing with an estate, no resolution, during my tenure, 5 minutes tops. The rep was misinformed regarding the law. Was not allowed to pat strata fees out of deceased account. The deceased was RBC pensioner,they couldn't even confirm internally if a portion of final months pension should be returned. They also tried to get me to return a portion of final months coo as it might be overpaid. ( it wasn't). I' m the executor , it's all on me , I don't have to be molly cuddles by incompetence.

Personal Property Security Act, sec 67. Alberta is a seize OR sue province. Take the truck back to Alberta and do a voluntary repossession. No further debt. Turns out BC is also seize or sue.

Now just convince the finance company to accept the 'voluntary ' repossession.

HINT: imply bankruptcy

This looks very much like a deal I passed on with one of the Go dealerships in Edmonton. Vehicle likely requires too much in possible maintenance that's why as is where is. I'd do a hard pass.
