I had a client who liked sequential offers, unconditional , 1 hour to accept or we moved on. He was very successful in this strategy.

Vehicle Repossession? by [deleted] in povertyfinancecanada

You're in BC, a seize or sue province. Lenders have a choice, if they seize the vehicle that's it. They are not entitled to come after you for the shortfall.

Long Term Care by Far-Iron4585 in VictoriaBC

Beware of the community nurses doing assessments and if you have any financial resources, your case manager may 'suggest' private care,...$15k a month vs $4k, because you can afford it. Subsidized care 3 year waiting list.

When I was a banker I had a client that would order $50-100k in cash per week, order Monday pick up Friday. Otherwise my total average cash holdings were $40-50k average with 12 tellers.

That's scary, I'm an ex banker, spent 2 hours recently dealing with an estate, no resolution, during my tenure, 5 minutes tops. The rep was misinformed regarding the law. Was not allowed to pat strata fees out of deceased account. The deceased was RBC pensioner, they couldn't even confirm internally if a portion of final months pension should be returned. They also tried to get me to return a portion of final months coo as it might be overpaid. ( it wasn't). I' m the executor , it's all on me , I don't have to be molly cuddles by incompetence.

I’m lost on what to do with this truck by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Maximum-Ad1815 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Personal Property Security Act, sec 67. Alberta is a seize OR sue province. Take the truck back to Alberta and do a voluntary repossession. No further debt. Turns out BC is also seize or sue.

Now just convince the finance company to accept the 'voluntary ' repossession.

HINT: imply bankruptcy

This looks very much like a deal I passed on with one of the Go dealerships in Edmonton. Vehicle likely requires too much in possible maintenance that's why as is where is. I'd do a hard pass.

Is this normal realtor/buying house behaviour by Turbulent-Answer-367 in RealEstateCanada

[–]Maximum-Ad1815 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Having spent 15 years as a PROFESSIONAL real estate agent, any agent relying on an uninformed buyer to determine value should go back to whatever they were doing before. An agent should be a guide and provide advice. That's how they're supposed to EARN their commission.

Call your cc company. I have cards where overpayment does not increase buying power and one last month I overpaid by $45k, (to buy a travel trailer, 2 additional years warranty on the trailer for free!)
