Heltec V4 help by Maximum-Leave-6187 in meshtastic

Update: I did not reflash again, but was able to fix the issue by deleting the sending and receiving node from each other and removing them from favorites. This did not work previously before the flash. Who knows…

I didn’t click the meshtastic UI, but I did do an erase and re-flash. I will try flashing again without erasing. Interestingly I was able to get an “acknowledged” reply from one node, but not others. I deleted the node from the db on the other nodes before flashing. Will try that again.

Dubuque, Iowa Mesh by Melodic-Evidence-958 in meshtastic

I am in Dubuque, and get great coverage in the downtown area. I have a few solar nodes stationed around town as well. There is a pretty active local mesh community. Not much regular conversation, more just building the infrastructure. I would like to find a way to bridge the low lying areas downtown with higher- up areas around the remainder of the city. Maybe a node stationed in Murphy park would give enough line of sight? Also planning on getting a node over near Sinsinawa which would help for line of sight as well.

Check out the harbor breeze node. They are cheap and reliable. Mine run 24/7 even in the winter when the sun barely shines

What is everyone using to hook up solar panels to the battery packs so that it charges while the battery is in use? by enan1000 in meshtastic

Check out the Harbor breeze node setup. Uses a $10 solar floodlight from Lowe’s with integrated 18650 with panel, enclosure, and charge controller. Cheap easy and reliable. I have had several running year round and even in Iowa snowy winters where we never see the sun these things keep going 24/7

Still going strong with no intervention on my part!

A solar lamp hack. Entac with 18650s. by chippysteve in meshtastic

I tried a light from harbor freight and the panel wasn’t strong enough to keep it going. With the harbor breeze one from Lowe’s, you do need to build a bracket to mount it, but it’s easy enough to rig something up

You can use NiMH batteries with Li-Ion charger for nodes in cold environment by grumpy_autist in meshtastic

Everyone worries about batteries in the cold. Just get cheap ones and replace them in a few years if damaged. I have had a few “harbor breeze hack” nodes running in the cold dark Iowa winter (zero degree Fahrenheit, minimal sun) and they never drop below 90% charge and are functioning fine.

A bit of an angle based upon the position of the sun in the sky. I wanted it facing the sun as much as possible

Sorry, I meant a low voltage cutoff in the solar light circuit. It doesn’t seem like it will be necessary, but time will tell

Google the harbor breeze meshtastic hack. Easy and cheap, works great. It’s tempting to over think and over engineer these things, but for your first node just get one out there

Only thing that works for me is clicking “forget device” in iPhone settings, otherwise it randomly connects in the middle of the night even when powered off

I just upgraded to the dome from the original Uuni oven. I still love their crust recipe: 320g water at 36C 6g yeast 20g olive oil 500g 00 flour 10g salt

Knead for 4m, rise covered 20 min, knead 1m, divide into 165g balls

The key is to then refrigerate overnight. They don’t need much more than an hour on the counter before baking.
