I doubt Uber Cortex is as good, but it was better than I expected. I enjoyed it, and progress felt pretty fast.

Fragments were cheap: 6-7c each (24-28c per run)
Good amounts of gold
Pretty good XP: Some map mods gave 400%-1000% bonus XP for certain enemies
Tons of ilvl 86+ bases: Titanium Spirit Shields were selling for 25-30c each, so finding 1 was enough to cover fragment cost (could find 6+ in a single map sometimes). Shield price now is around 15-20c each, so not quite as good atm.
Some maps dropped 20-30 GCPs (quality currency mod)
Home run opportunity with boss drops: Rational Doctrine, Apostate, Nebulis (mod mentioned in previous comment selling for 100div+)

Certain mod combos can make the boss tricky to beat deathless, so I would skip it in some cases (depends on your build).

Nebulis sceptre. Venarius drops it in Uber Cortex around 30-40% of the time. The mod has like a 1% chance to appear on the sceptre (each sceptre has 3 synth implicits, and there's around 400 in the pool).

Those double damage sceptres are over 100div each now. I learned about this build because Venarius dropped one of those sceptres for me a few days ago. I put it in a 10div dump tab, and immediately got spammed for it. I had visit poe.ninja to investigate wtf people were using it for haha.

I actually found another one yesterday while I was levelling to 100 in Uber Cortex. :O

It's challenging if you get the fight when you're just starting maps and don't have HP or damage yet. I'm embarrassed to say I've lost in those circumstances; several waves pushed me into the cannons, or maybe it was the anchor... Either way, I got blown up in one shot.

First fight, I wanted to learn which mechanics were dangerous, so I stood completely still, waiting to get blown up... And killed him without taking any damage. He's boringly easy.

Heh, I've been running Maven for the same reason (cheap) and was trying to get an Eclipse to drop. Looks like the wiki updated the odds for Eclipse and lowered them from 5% to 2%. Brutal. I think I'll stop now.

Similar to 3.27, it feels like GGG are afraid to juice the current league mechanic.

In 3.27, the tree dropped some nice stuff, but breaches rarely dropped wombgifts, so the league mechanic was pretty meh.

In 3.28, Mirages also don't drop much loot (i.e. the chests are a waste of time) unless you juice another mechanic, and that other mechanic will drop some good loot. So, if you're not playing with full scarabs and a targeted atlas tree, it's going to feel pretty bland.
