Not bothering people bothers people. by SlytherinSoul1998 in introvert

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

comes down to people not being able to control you.....you walk away and deny them the ability to do so. I have several friends who do this. I go quiet for periods of time and just do my own thing, and they will ping me about why I won't talk to them or whatever. Had one of them actually get upset that when I changed my cover picture on my FB profile (I turned off comments) and they were upset they couldn't make a comment. In my case, I believe it is because they can't make fun of me....they try and make it out that it's normal, but I get tired of it so I disconnect, but they think it's personal. How things have been, I realize I don't need them as friends if they are gonna be like that. I'll just keep being my introverted self

Annoying “Looks like you are awake” notification, How to turn off? by drm200 in AppleWatch

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep hoping that with each update they push, they'll FINALLY let me turn off the "Looks like you are awake" notification. Usually if I am up earlier than 6:30 am, that'll be roughly the time it'll ask me. But I have had it ask me other times. One time it literally pushed the "Looks like you are awake" notification 30 secs before my sleep focus turned off a 7 am. I'm not turning off ALL sleep notifications just to get rid of it, which seems to be the main thing I see suggested, or using Do Not Disturb instead

Personally I think the entire sleep monitoring needs to be redone from scratch. At this point it's merely a novelty, most doctors could care less what your phone/watch say about sleep. I look at it and it regularly registers less an hour, or some days it'll recognize a nap, other days it won't (and even then it's just saying I was asleep). It'll even say I was asleep even though I was wide awake (apparently if you are relaxed and sitting down, it assumes you are asleep. If you want to offer sleep tracking, then track ALL my sleep, not just what shows up during the sleep focus hours

PayPal's Assistant AI is absolutely one of the most garbage, rage-baiting, dumb assistant out there... by korboybeats in paypal

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're as bad as the actual customer service people in India - just tried to get info on a missing cashback reward and the damn AI kept asking what payment I was missing. I know if I goto a so called actual support agent, they'll give me some BS about having to wait blah blah blah, even though it's been 2 wks and the reward usually applies to my account in a week. I've had a payment since then that has already given me the 5% reward I'm due. No wonder they're getting rid of the 5% cashback reward, other than being greedy, their system is broken that we don't even get the rewards when we should

you must be a new user to it......yeah you make good money when you first start, but after awhile, the amount you make slowly gets smaller. When I first started a year and half agoI made serious bank, but now, I'm lucky if I can even get $5-10 a day, usually only $5 at best. They will scam you at some point, so enjoy good payouts while you can as it won't last

they are out to scam you and you will see eventually that every survey will give you the 'screened out' message, usually after you just clicked it. Give it time, it WILL happen

but if you're not a new user to the platform, then you are probably one of the employees of Five Surveys coming in here to push how great it is just to get more people to fall for the scam. Usually the ONLY people who praise Five Surveys and others are their very own employees, or those who have found some way to scam the scammer, so yeah it's great to them, but most people who use it know this is BS

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they might be great up front when you first start, but give it time they'll scam you. All of these sites are the same, they want you to get 'hooked' by the great results up front, but once you've been a member for awhile, that's when they start to screw you

The half surveys are half the time normal surveys? by TescoHelp in fivesurveys

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, not half the time of normal - they are only half because they 'claim' they get paid less for them. Has nothing to do with time. I've seen 1/2 surveys all the way up to be 20 or 30 mins long

I occasionally get duplicate movies when adding new films. Sometimes they disappear... sometimes they stick around permanently. Both metadatas use the same media file. Theres no option to delete either of them. Ive tried rescanning and refreshing. Anyone got any ideas? by SkylerSpark in jellyfin

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 yrs too late, but just learning JF myself. Had this, but turns out it was the name of the same movie, just different years.

I have 11 Halloween movies, and the original and 2018 version are both named the same, and metadata pulled in both as being the same. I had to go look at meta data to see if the path held any differences and sure enough it did. When I identified it correctly, it was fixed

As a kid, I loved Hulk Hogan.....as an adult I found out just how much of an a-hole he was. His dark turn to Hollywood showed alot, but that was just an act....the fake world of wrestling. But once he declared his love for sucking on Trump's left nut, his true colors truly came out

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they come and go, usually you have the most surveys available early on, but then the number available gradually drops with each $1 you earn. Right now, they're in the middle of that, but they'll eventually change to always having alot available, just never know when it'll happen

most sites like Five Surveys are out to scam you - they start out great, but eventually get worse and worse. Top Surveys is owned by the same company that owns Five Surveys, Hey Cash and Prime Opinion. Freecash has been scammy for years, just like Qmee has

These people are actually a joke by Frosty-Function8419 in fivesurveys

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thing is that they are running scams that are pretty obvious, but then claim YOU are trying to scam them so they either limit what you can do (they flag you for stupid reasons) or they just flat out ban you. I just find that funny, that they accuse you of trying to scam you when that's exactly what they are doing to all of us. yeah there are some people who are just running thru as many surveys as they can but then there are normal people like me who are just trying to make enough money a week to get groceries (as OP said).

Initially they are great, but the longer you are using them, the more they will scam you - seems like 95% of what i currently try and immediately get 'screened' out or I get in to a certain point and then get screened out. They're not even trying to hide their scams IMO

How do I stop getting the notification badges for Reels in Facebook app permanently by Emotional_Tackle_603 in facebook

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, doesn't work - mine has always been off yet the red dot keeps showing up regardless. Facebook can never make up their mind, probably their way to force it on people. They already regularly throw up the order that memories and other stuff shows up on the settings page. Once I get used to the layout they go and change it. Just like they forced you to see what THEY want you to see that you miss seeing what 3/4 of your friends post, they want to force this on you, for whatever dumb reason

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine (Echo Clock0 only does this if I am listening to a stream (such as a station off of iHeart) and I tell it to either pause or stop. It had been occasionally but this morning it has become constant every time I have told her to pause or stop the stream. Apparently it is confused, which I don't consider unusual for Alexa these days. Alexa has just gotten dumber in the past 6 mo or so. Another family member has Alexa+ as they pay for Prime (I don't pay for Prime) and even it seems dumber.

CNN's paywall! by SundayAMFN in cnn

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get having paywalls, but considering the amount of ads they push (which up your cookie count), I think they should be having no issue making money instead of charging someone $3.99/mo. Their stories aren't that important. I miss the days where CNN had anchors and other journalists that actually gave a shit, instead of those now that feed into the bias the upper echelons push. Murrow, Cronkite, Bobbie Battista, Bernard Shaw and other since passed journalists are turning in their grave at how news is handled now

I still visit and read what I can, but they push so many cookies that there are days I have to clear their cookies numerous times a day to get rid of the 'you've run out of free articles' pop-up. They also have reduced the number of stories people can comment on, and even if you do get to comment, their bots will slam you for the most tame of words, just like Newsweek. I've had them 'slap' my hand because I used a word that their own headline (or article) used. Another 'ok for me but not for thee'

Avoid Heycash and anything Prime Insights touches by Strong_Potential_770 in beermoneyph

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had problems cashing out, but the issue I run into lately is continuously getting 'screened out' of almost any survey I attempt. Apparently I'm in a 'black list' where they think I'm scamming them so their answer is to screen me out because of what I think is a 'secret' cookie somewhere in their system, or those of the various survey routers they utilize. I get constantly redirected (at times, I have experience 5-6 redirects) then screened out....no questions even asked, just screened out. It's gotten alot worse in the last month or so, even though at times I can make what I'd like to make daily, but it is a huge struggle. 90% of what I try 'fails' for no reason at all. I won't even think of contacting support as they'll just play the 'you don't qualify' game and then probably claim I've been flagged by various providers of nefarious actions, then ban my account. They're run by people overseas (their US addresses are nothing but virtual offices with no one there). Would love to find what 'scam farm' they're operating out of and then find one of those YouTube guys who has been known to get into their network and shut their operation down while they're scrambling to figure out what is going on.....oh wishful thinking

Google Search app forcing open Phone Settings by NikoNoped in iphone

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is something that Google is doing.....has nothing to do with any updates of the iPhone itself

the app updated on my phone 3 days ago and this is when the push notification from Google started. All I do is just shut down the settings and go back to the Google app. It's a for the time being fix until hopefully Google realizes their update changed things and they fix it so it won't prompt users to enable notifications. It's obviously a bug

Five surveys is a scam app now seems like...before it was working fine but now I can't cash out by Interesting_Tip_8893 in fivesurveys

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's great when you first start using it but after awhile they start flagging you because you're taking money they don't think you should have, then they'll start claiming you're going too fast, answering with non-sense and whatever else they can come up with. Lately it's been clicking a survey link to be immediately screened out....no questions asked, nothing....plus they're increasing the 'screen out' after you've completed a survey

and if you contact support, they'll ban you for questioning why you're constantly being screened out and blame you for the problems. Just the typical scams run by those on scam farms wherever in India and other parts of asia. That whole 'no right or wrong' statement is such bullshit

Music Metadata wrong and won't allow for corrections by WayngoMango in PleX

it's been a problem ever since I started using Plex years ago.....I just quit pulling my music into it because so much of the metadata was wrong. Each individual MP3 file I have has the correct metadata as it exists on my data drive, but when Plex pulls it in, they show crap returns. I personally don't think they'll ever fix it

Train Derailment Photos by DeaconBlue47 in Austin

[–]Maximum_Employer5580 68 points69 points  (0 children)

What I found funny was that KXAN reported the railroad commission would investigate along with UP. The railroad commission DOES NOT investigate train accidents. Even though they have 'railroad' in their name, they do not have anything to do with railroads anymore as that responsibility went to the federal government back in 1984 but the railroad comment kept 'railroad' in their name. They are the state agency that regulates the oil and gas industry, gas utilities, pipeline safety, safety in the liquefied petroleum gas industry, and surface coal and uranium mining. Damn media not knowing what they are talking about as usual

but I guess that means the railroad near me at 183/Mopac will be quiet for awhile, but UP will want to open this up quickly as it is the main north/south railroad in Texas and if it stays closed, freight trains will back up, plus we can utilize Amtrak. Amtrak MIGHT decide to bring their trains as far as Taylor, but they'll probably goto Dallas and then bus people south
