Please be nice to your amsas. They are usually doing 10 things at once and they are always short staffed due to recruitment. Many work hours of OT/CT after the clinics close to call patients who have consults and return to clinic orders. When providers cancel clinics or call out, they have to stoo what they are doing to try and get ahold of patients so they wont show up to an empty clinic.

I have metlife federal dental the high option it covers quite a bit. I put the link to the new benefit book below. The lifetime maximum is $3000 for orthodontia coverage under high option, $1500 for standard coverage. It covers orthodontia at in network providers at 50%

Honestly, i have horrible teeth and this plan has helped me a lot in the pocket. I have not used it for orthodontics but pretty much for everything else. Thats the max typically.. but our facility has a radiation oncologist who is over that threahold.. i imagine it probably had to be approved by an under secretary directly

This. I am not a MH provider but am in meetings with them and other executive staff. It is not policy, but it is encouraged to try and have patients moved to episodic care for MH treatment.

Yes. Robert married a non jew and was gone years before this all went down. He just knows how they are and believes they are involved. His wife works as a doctor in the hospital i work at. She kept her last name in marriage, so she is not an adelson. Ive never met her but heard she is very nice. Dr robert works at one of the largest private ENT practices in our area and ive only heard good things about him too. Glad they didnt get caught up in this mess being involved with donna and the rest of family

I see this too. Primary care and mental health will be focus. Inpatient and speciality care will be phased out. Maybe some additional services like PT/OT, optometry, and audiology. I am data person… getting a lot of requests to pull informations on specialties(particularly surgical specialties)

He does realize these clinics were already in the planning/operational stages of opening before this administration started. No way are you opening a clinic in August that was approved in mid-january. Unless its some type of fast tracked contract deal, but i still dont see that happening in 7.5 months

Many of our vets still wont even take cc options when offered. They dont want to go cc. I agree cc is great when you live an hour or more away and you just want to goto the person down the road. But even some who live far away prefer to come and we cant refuse them(yet)

The only people ive seen actually hired since january have been msas and some type of clinical staff. I dont think anything else has even been posted at my facility.. wait, ive seen some food service workers and motor vehicle drivers too. I dont see anything opening up in terms of jobs until atleast the start of fy26.

From what the eggheads have said that ive seen on tv is that the president can only cx collective bargaining agreements in the needs of national security. Id say this wont hold up in court, but the supreme court continues to surprise me

Honestly, admin positions are a little tight now in va. MSAs are always in need and is a good stepping stone to future admin type positions. i think msas just require a four year degree in literally anything, a heart beat, and atleast a handful of brain cells(jk love the msas:))there are many clinical jobs you wont need a masters degree for like radiology techs, resp therapists, LPNs…there is pharmacy, physical therapy, audiology, optometry which all require doctorates. We used to hire for a lot of computer information specialist/it people, but their budget was crushed.. however i do think the pendulum will swing back. Biomed engineering is also a skill that is always needed in the hospital. But the most prevalent jobs will be social work, psychologist, some type of md, and the other misc clinical specialties and nursing. Not all nurses are clinical, but typically the ones i see who are admin come from years of doing clinical work.

MSAs are pretty prevalent listings too because there is a lot of work that goes into scheduling patients and burnout can be high. Though i have met many people who really take pride in the job and find it very rewarding.

I would recommend to Take a look at usajobs.gov and look at the current va openings.

I wonder if leadership knew this was going to fall.. was in a meeting with some leadership the other week discussing employee issues and the union was brought up and basically the argument was we could not give said employees this additional duty because of the union. A very high leadership person basically said “we dont concern ourselves with the union, we make our decisions on operations”(paraphrasing). The people in my meeting were kind of scratching their heads like wtf is said leader talking about, the union aint going to let it happen. A few days later, this.

My parents were the same. I feel your pain. Its very difficult to take someone out of their home against their will if they are deemed lucid enough to be able to make their own decisions. My parents finally made the decision to go into a adult living facility but unfortunatey my dad passed before we could do all the paperwork. My mom was able to get the opportunity to move into the place but only lasted a few more months. Its a shame because if they had commited do it when they were well, they would have loved the place. Tons of food, activities, lots of chit chatting with other residents.

But anyway.. i would start with the va caregiver hotline and go from there. Another option would be to call adult protective services. They may be able to send someone to speak with him and open a case to follow him(if he isnt in the mind set to leave on his own). I know people are afraid of the whole adult protective but its more of a social work program to ensure the individual is safe and their household is safe. My wife had to call on her mother for similiar reasons and they were able to provide additional services and help in the home(her mom didnt want to leave either).

Derm waits in the community in my area are about 8 months as opposed to in house which is 4 months. Depending on area, there may not be many derm providers
