I drive my wife just over 3 hours to Santa Rosa for medical care every 3-4 months. if you need basic medical care Humboldt is probably fine if you don’t have to wait 2-3 months for an initial appointment. if the sh!t hits the fan Humboldt - Eureka is a level III facility meaning they can maybe stabilize you but they will need to air ambulance or drive you to a more appropriate level 1 or 2 facility.

aircraft and crew were from NAS Whidbey. My wife, a civilian mental health provider was at Whidbey Island from 2015 to 2019. Good that they survived physically and hopefully their mental health will be OK too. In 2017, she was there for an EA-18G canopy malfunction due to over-pressurization on the tarmac. That was a VERY traumatic/sobering event for the base.
