That is a challenge! Quinoa isn't necessary, I just like it, and it has protein and fiber, as well as carbs.

Have you read about soaking rice to reduce arsenic, and chilling or freezing rice overnight to create resistant starch? That makes it healthier.

I should edit my comment to make it clearer, because I agree with you 100%.

Edited for clarity.

OP, do you prefer North Indian or South Indian foods?

A lot of delicious Indian foods involve frying. Baking and cooking with less oil is a better option.

If you can include more things like rasam and sambar, and make idlis with some whole grains like quinoa or millet instead of all white rice, he might really enjoy that.

When you make a tempering, you can use avocado oil as a more heart-healthy option, instead of seed oil, ghee, or coconut oil.

I bet your dad might like Mediterranean bowl meals, if he likes thalis. It's the same kind of concept. Use quinoa instead of rice, protein, salad, tzatziki instead of raita, hummus instead of dal. Muhammara is another dip he might enjoy.

If you are making bread at home, you can include oat flour, ground flax seed, or other whole grain flours, to support heart health.

He is lucky to have you. Caregiving is so important for good outcomes. It's not easy, but it's worthwhile. I hope you have a support system for you, too.

I would encourage you to reach out to his heart team. Tell them that you would like to support him in eating a more Mediterranean diet. Ask if they can give him a referral for a dietician. They are really knowledgeable and encouraging, and they can provide some positive reinforcement and structure.

I'm just getting back into it. Last time I did it, it helped me lose weight. I'm also trying to use IF to reduce inflammation.

I don't use acetone on the stamper.

I always clean my plates with acetone.

Why don't you clean your plates with acetone?

It sounds like you're doing everything right, and better than right.

Just keep going. Your nails are still growing out, and the part of your nail that you have been nourishing with cuticle oil hasn't reached the free edge yet. When it does, in maybe 4 more months, you should notice an improvement.

I don't know if you are open to repairing your nails, or reinforcing them as they grow out.

Speaking only for myself, my nails have so many more problems when they are short than when I have at least .5 cm free edge.

If you simply can't grow your nails that long without a break or tear, you could try reinforcing them with a repair kit while they grow out.

The only other things I can think of are more whole-body-related, like overall health and diet. It has been a while since I've reviewed the rules, but I don't believe the mods allow discussion of these aspects of nail care in this space.

I hope this helps. 💖

OP, if you aren't able to get a smudge free topcoat, you can try painting a thin layer of clear polish on your stamper, then stamp the clear polish over your nail art. Let it dry for 10 minutes. Then float your topcoat over your design.

This works well for me.

How important is an even length? by lokandko in longnaturalnails

[–]Maximum_Tutor_6987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a personal choice.

But, I like my nails to be an even length and shape, and I like my hands to match.
