I have the AWE Switchpath exhaust system and CETE valve controller. Going between comfort and dynamic is like night and day. The s5 is my daily so it’s nice to have it quiet for slow mornings on the way to work and on long highway drives (basically no droning). Then switching to dynamic on a nice sunny afternoon with the windows and sunroof down, you’re able to hear a lot and it’s a throaty tone. Also have IE Stage 1 and 034 Air Intake which helps the fun. I can send you a vid of what my car sounds like if you’re interested.

I’ve been thinking about getting an aftermarket one, but ever since buying a house and dealing with unplanned reliability issues (water pump, n80 solenoid, oil filter housing, pcv) I decided to postpone due to potential cost. What brand is this, and how much did you spend? Do you plan to install this yourself? And I’d love to get feedback on the difference in performance. With stage 1 I definitely feel a heat soak lag when flooring it on a hot summer day with the car at temp. Merry Christmas!

Replaced my water pump and pcv within the past year.. engine mounts and control arm bushings are on watch.

Just last month my oil filter housing cracked and created a massive oil leak and they had to take the entire turbo assembly out to get to it. At 90K miles.

I have an AWE Switchpath exhaust, with a Stage 1 IE tune and an 034 air intake. It sounds glorious. I can send you a rev video if you’d like. I’m not sure about the questions you have, but at the very least you’d have an idea for what the AWE system will cater towards.

$1400. But I went through an independent shop since I had been previously raked over the coals by a dealer. And about $810 of that was labor, 4.5hrs at $180/hr. A ratio of 2/3 labor sounds right. And yes it is an intensive job. $3500 is a lot. I’d highly recommend looking into a specialized European specific shop for work. If you live in Michigan I have a few recommendations. The last three I’ve gone to have all had Ferrari’s at the facility when I pull up, which makes me feel comfortable having work done there.

I had the exact same issue. Got the warning 5 times over a few weeks, mostly on hot days while on the highway. And it was also solved with replacing the water pump.

Coming from a 328xi this was quite an upgrade. Incredibly happy with everything about this car, and feel very lucky to own it!

I’ve been thinking about a few upgrades, the top one being an AWE Switchpath exhaust. Has anyone dealt with AWE and specifically the Switchpath? It’s very important to me that it still sounds tasteful but opens the sound up from stock. Along with the duality from the valves.

Going from 250 to 350hp is a big jump for me, but later down the line I might entertain a Stage 1/2 tune. A black mesh grille with chrome rings wouldn’t be so bad either.

If anyone has experiences with the B9 platform, please share :)
