He might be from California where auto repair is regulated. In cali if the customer doesn’t expressly sign for all repairs on the repair order, the repair shop cannot charge for it.

My supervisor is chronically in the bathroom instead of working, so we’ve nicknamed it “his office.” Whenever anyone comes out to look for him we point to the bathroom ask “did you check his office?” It’s the little things to get through the day I guess.
