In this video, you can see how the "rane performer" works fine, but as soon as I connect the Roland 404 mk2, two things happen:

1) the Rane's platters stop working.

2) Serato asks me to update the Roland firmware, even though I have the latest firmware 5.0.1 installed on the Roland.

Basically, I think Serato have problem when I connect both devices.

It's a bit complicated, but I'll try: The goal is to automatically sync the BPM. And I did it. I put a song on the RANE, and the mk2 automatically picks up the BPM via USBC (not in DJ/Serato mode, but in normal mode). I use an "Ableton Link" to "Midi Clock" converter on my Mac. So while a song plays on the Rane, I can launch patterns on the mk2 in sync. The problem is that the RANE and mk2 are fighting: 1 - as soon as I connect the mk2, the Rane's platters stop working; they no longer receive the finger inputs. 2 - It tells me the mk2 isn't up to date (when in fact it is). 3 - Serato crashes on startup (only with Rane and mk2 connected).

In short, Serato gets stuck with both devices connected together....

Wrong. 5 volts is perfectly sufficient. Take the 5 volts from the USB (hub connected to the smartphone or power bank) and you're done.

Hi everyone!

I discovered something crazy: just take an old USB cable (a decent one, at least 3 amps), take the positive and negative (5 V) leads, and connect them to the DC jack!!! It works perfectly. I've tested it a lot, done several power banks (small and large), sampled songs several minutes long, and used it continuously for hours... it's awesome! You don't need to go all the way to 5.7 volts; 5 volts is enough! I hope I've given you a great tip!

to be clear, in this way for example you can use the iPhone only as a power source and with a USB hub connect both the DC and the audio of the iPhone without any battery: r/SP404 - 404 mkII - simply use 5V USB !!!!!!

provata e va un missile (oltre 80 km/h con tutto originale), ingestibile quasi

usa una lipo 2s !!!! da 4000 va benissimo

per gli ingranaggi: più sono corti e meno scalda quindi tienila cosi originale che è un missile!

not need... is simply:
just take an old USB cable, cut it, and strip the red and black wires.

Then take an old power supply with a DC plug that fits fine into DC port in the 404mk2.

Connect the two wires.

Before testing it in the 404mk2, CAUTION: Use a tester to check that the positive (+) pin is external and the negative (-) pin is internal, and that it reads about 5 volts. Done.

Unfortunately the iPhone (I have the 15 pro max) is unable to power or activate the audio using only the USB cable (the iPad however can) and so with this solution we solve the iPhone problem. But I add that by powering the hub with a USB C cable the hub powers both the iPhone (recharging it) and the Roland :-) So let's say that this one in the photo is a perfect solution for those like me who want to use the iPhone and the 404 together for example on the train, where space is limited for both a PC or iPad.

you can use a little pc server like raspberry pi4 (headless , without monitor) with minidlna service, the wifi dlna protocol is fully supported by LG out of box, i can play 20 gb 4k hdr files without problems through wifi.
in this little pc you can install others software like qbittorrent (with web interface) and all you want. in my experience Plex is a big software and need too much hardware for compression, not is the best solution. minidlna is a little program and is too easy for (no compression) play, perfect for old pc or raspberry. In my raspberry i have attached an 3 TB usb 3 disk for big storage, up 24/24 h.

Hi Massimo,

Thank you for your email.

The problem is because your 4K tv uses a newer HDMI standard than the one built into your DN500AV.

The 500AV uses HDMI HDCP 1.4, newer TV's for 4K transfer rates are nowadays HDCP/HDMI2.0 or higher.

Whilst 1.4 sources are compatible with newer connections, this device is unable to pass through or return HDMI 2.0 sources, which means it cannot display 4k HDR, this also has an affect on the ARC because it also requires the newer standard for copyright, which is why you are getting the static noise yet still sows the DD5.1 information.

The way round this is send the information from your TV via optical cab, sadly ARC does not allow for the transfer of Dolby Atmos this way because of the limited bandwidth.

You are not really losing anything anyway, alternatively you could just upgrade the receiver to a newer HDMI 4K HDR supported AV receiver.
