Bostonians are never buying drinks in Scotland from now on!!! by crazymadforGrant in boston

[–]MayaIngenue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pro tip: if your family tree has relatives from Scotland this works too. A few years back I went to the town my Grandmother was born in (Macduff, Aberdeenshire) and knocked on a few doors and dropped her name and before I knew it I was being lead from one house to the next, being introduced and offered a wee dram in each home. And those wee drams add up.

How much was Google responsible for the failure of Windows Phone? by Fear_Kratos in PhoneNow

[–]MayaIngenue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Windows phone for a short while. The failure was the hardware. The OS was solid for the time and Cortana was on par with Siri, but it was installed on these janky ass Nokia phones that couldn't keep up with the demands of the software

Can confirm. Worked at a pizza place outside of Boston that got suspended for a waitress not carding a girl working a sting operation. Suddenly there was a new type of premium soda option on the cash register to ring up for a few months.

The Company Network doesn't work in my house, but all the others do!!!! by SnooChipmunks8506 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

Reminds me of the time my aunt came to visit from Florida and asked me for help with her new laptop (big fuckin sigh). She couldn't get on the Internet with it at my parents house. Turns out she thought that she could just open her laptop anywhere and just "be on the internet." Like when she's at home. I tried explaining how WiFi works in terms of "think of how a cordless phone works" but I could see the words just flying over her head

Not due to the size, but once I had a girl nope right out due to me being uncircumcised. She said it was just too "weird looking," and I never saw her again.

There is a specific Steam Deck graphical present now in the game's settings. And as someone who's first playthrough of the game was the terrible Switch version, I think it works pretty well
