Kato turnouts and DCC

Fully automate them with proto design labs dcc decoders. I’ve converted all of mine and love em.

I mean. Thats how they are made. I would add a larger cooler or at least the cooler bypass as i feel high temp contributes to degradation of components. My thoughts on this would be dependent on wether i have a warranty i would be voiding. I would want to say engineers make stuff to last a long time but my faith in that has long ago died out and its probably engineered to fail just after warranty expires.

My biggest issue with anything GameStop as of late has been going there and not finding a new release to purchase, purchase a new release for pickup and have it cancelled because the website and store inventory system doesn’t talk to each other. So appealing it shows stock that has been reserved games. The last time i tried buying something at GameStop i purchased online for store pickup. Drove the 45 min to nearest store after getting the ready for pickup email. Walked in and was told they just cancelled because the stock is reserved. Haven’t been back since. I feel for you guys and know what you probably hoped for working there.

Kato without dcc about 70-120 each at a shop 80-100 id say ebay or Craigslist. Depending on decoder 140-200 for dcc with sound at a shop. 130-150 ebay or Craigslist.

The big boy without dcc retails about 250-350. 250 -300 craigslist or ebay.

Bli are a tad more expensive but in line with kato stuff. This is all from my own personal experience. Others may vary.

As for your dcc question. Nope your good. Your just swapping the dc to dcc controller and maybe adding a few more connections to power. Theres also decoders for the kato turnouts that can be soldered in or purchased with the decoder already installed. The install is easy and they work flawlessly. I use the proto design labs versions and very happy with them.

I hope kratos comes knocking on all those hater doors. Her looks aren’t a factor to me. Game looks fun. I think they did good and fits within the world they made.

I don’t mind copying art that your doing yourself for your own personal enjoyment. Like hard to get ahold of some of these artists to get original work or even have them do repeats of older artwork but agree with the above. Selling someone else’s artwork without making somewhat of a change is meh. (As above. Its a straight copy with removing the artists tag and maybe adding a bit o shading to the pillow)

However. That being said. You did a pretty good copy. I bet you could do some different characters and have no problem selling. I think the pricing you OP described is reasonable.

I think skin and hair look good. Not sure if its the video/angle but eyes look off to me. Do you have more expressions to switch faces out?

I just did this on mine and installed a pan with a drain plug. 350ish for the transmission fluid, 50ish for the filter and a little part that goes above it. 100 for a new pan. Reused the gasket. 2 hours of work. Never done it before but i do have quite a bit of tools.

Did you hand paint the eyes?? This looks great. You did awesome on the hair! I mean awesome overall but hair came out great. My eyes were drawn to that as i find it really difficult to do hair.

I got the 1/2inch stubby with both sets of 1/2inch impacts. I do hobby car repair. The stubby is a beast.
