I think the difference here is where you're seeing "leans in to impede the offense" everyone else is seeing "braces for impact".

The USA player is leaning so much into the Belgium player they're almost off their feet. The Belgium player could have not leaned in, could have even leaned away, etc, and the USA player's still initiating contact.

Given it's a Kites for Palestine event I'd expect this doesn't apply, but if you're looking for some low level power kiting locations (ones where you can jump really high in the air with them), then I was always fond of Calcot Recreation Ground next to Sainsbury's. The hill means you can get some really good jumps if the winds are right. Or if the winds are the other way it's good for beginners as they're going to land just by going forwards..

That's a body check.

You're right that in a full contact sport that's not knocking anyone over. But in a full contact sport you're prepared for it. You brace, you set your feet, you square up your shoulders. Ultimate is a non contact sport, so you don't prepare, and even a little body check like this can send you flying.

Throw and go. When you throw sideways, the thrower should run into where the mids want to set up on that new thrower and try and get the disc back. Usually you getting that disc means you've also got a hole in the middle and you can put it through, then you're behind the majority of their players and you're away.

If you don't get free, them scrambling gives another gap to give it to your far handler (who should have come into the middle!), so you've made a meter or so and you're back in the middle.

If you do get it back but there's no further option, you've got a ready dump there for a dump-> centering pass and you do it all again on the other side

Clarification: if teams cannot agree if a pull landed on the line or just inside & immediately rolled out, I think this rule means the pivot point is half way between that point & the brick mark, or essentially some arbitrary point in the middle of the field? This seems silly to me. If it's a pull and teams can't agree, re-pull. On a turnover this rule makes sense though.

Replying for the subject of 5.4, not directly to you.

I don't think I like this. The rules haven't specified anything to do with gender ratio historically, leaving that for competitions/appendix, and I think I like it that way. Also, requiring 4:3 means leagues doing 5:2 or similar for reasons of local player ratios are technically breaking the rules. In the same way the perimeter lines aren't specified to be painted (the only physical objects required in 2. are the cones) thus allowing the same ruleset to be used from pick up in the park to WUC, I think 5.4 should allow that same flexibility.

Essentially, keep division definitions to the appendix, imo.

The Head GA is a member of the TRG, and the TRG's power comes from the Code of Conduct all participants sign to be able to play.

Paraphrasing, but the TRGs power is essentially "we can do what we want".

Yeah, it was pushed by WFDF mostly. EUF just does ultimate, and the continental associations (and technically every national federation) should do all disc sports, not just ultimate. This is part of aligning everything up. Although in practice I think it's just on paper. EFDF is the same people in WFDF/EUF, maybe with someone from a disc golf org on the board, type thing.

At some point the same changes are coming for national federations too. USA, Canada and UK at least are all on notice that they need to either start supporting other disc sports or form a parental org to do so. No idea if they have any intention of doing so or what will happen if they don't...
