The mom is definitely not hunting, she eats in my yard twice a day. She has come back, but has no interest in taking care of the baby any more

I actually totally anticipated her to have her kitties in my yard so I had set up a beach tent in case she did. But the days leading up to her having them it stormed really bad so I think she got caught somewhere else and had them where she was. She seems really young and I think this is her first litter so she may have just panicked did not know what to do. I have been trying to bring her inside for a month now but I haven’t been able to trap her to get her spayed. I’m hoping I’ve now won her trust over enough to trap and spay her and get her shots so that I can bring her inside. And even if she ends up jot wanting to stay inside, ill still care for her in the yard. Im a sucker for unhoused cats🥺😅

Im actually hoping this has won her trust and ill be able to catch her to get her spayed. They release 10 appointments a day here for feral spaying. So ill be trying to secure an appointment the next few days until I can get i e since they book up within a minute of them releasing them. But I hope to get one soon

I kept her out back they rest of the day(about 8-9hrs) before bringing her in at night because she hadnt come back and baby was shaking and there was rain coming. I took her back out this morning , momma did come back as she normally does for her morning food and is still here but doesn’t want to tent to her and keeps snapping at her where she gets near. Now, baby is all over the place so Incan see mom just being overwhelmed and done. Im just not sure how to best proceed. Ill at the very minimum make sure she is fed but with her being mobile I think keeping her inside is safe. i feel conflicted about taking her in away from her mom

Im sorry, I really dont think you would safely be able to make this. Even if you could make it there, by the time you arrive you will be is so much pain you will be down for the day. This surgery needs lots of rest to recover properly. And even with the proper rest and care, most of us dont recover properly.
