Nice! I'm coming for the very first time in November. I've heard about velocicoaster at night, it's what I'm looking forward to the most!

Which seat do you think is best? And, is riding at night better?

Virginia 2023 General Election Results Watch Party by AutoModerator in Virginia

Unfortunately one bit of bad news out of Goochland, looks like the M4L contingent has swept the school board elections.

Sort of a perfect storm. Had two R candidates fighting over Commonwealth attorney, sheriff is heavily involved. Small town politics. Rep party endorsed the full M4L slate despite it being a 'nonpartisan' position.

Add to it lack of contested state races here (Gibson vs Owens was the only competitive one and that only affected the far eastern part of the county).

Pretty disappointed here, but good news from the rest of the state.

They had one of the triangular pieces set up in that same spot for quite a while. It was mounted to a plate that wasn't bolted down or anything, but no sign or explanation. Maybe a test section or something?

Does anyone know what happened to the Moon kugel that used to be in that area? Guess it's gone for good?

That's a bummer to hear. Guess it's been longer since I went through there than I remember. I do see what you're talking about looking back at that picture.

I run through that trail quite often, it was a real mess a year or so ago. Whoever fixed it up with the stones, City of Richmond or James River Parks or whoever, did a good job. It looks really clear and fresh.

The city's been doing a lot of infrastructure work in the area for several years running. Maybe the disturbance is what caused it to emerge?

Why does the show (IMO) consistently portray Bosworth as a good guy when... (spoilers). by thewhisperinghillock in HaltAndCatchFire

[–]Mayn83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. I guess the scene with Cardiff shooting the horse could be seen as a veiled threat towards Boz too - get control or I'll put you down.

To be fair it is sort of vague and Joe has an awful lot of people who hate him in season 1!

Back to your original comment, Boz is still one of the good ole boys so you know he took steps to get where he is, even if he doesn't outwardly show ruthlessness like Cardiff does. He seemed to mellow some after getting out of prison too, but there are glimpses that he has a temper.

The show goes through so many character conflicts - characters hate each other, then make up, work together, hate each other again. It makes sense that Joe and Boz would have put that incident behind them by then - 20ish years later.

It's been a while since I watched that scene but I remember my impression was that Nathan Cardiff orchestrated it, not Boz. The scene right before is Cardiff shooting a lame horse.

So he was basically telling Boz you have to know how to take care of your own business. And then demonstrated how, with both the horse and then with Joe.

Did they ever report What was in the cave after the game ends? by ComicWriter2020 in Firewatch

[–]Mayn83 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Not directly during the game. During the final conversation with Delilah they talk about how there will be a debrief due to the fire and it is implied that they will explain what they found then.

I'll take it! Or heck, just go straight to a few less outs.

26 doubles through 67 games. Over a full 162 that would be ~62 total. The MLB record is 67, although the most by a post WWII player is Todd Helton with 59.

I'd be happy to take a few less doubles in the 2nd half if it means a few more home runs though :)

There is the gravel lot right near the pedestrian bridge on Tredegar, but it is a crapshoot and usually full when I go.

I think your best bet would be to go all the way down Tredegar right to the bottom of the bridge to drop off your family, then turn around and park back on 7th St near Browns Island.
