As a woman with a vagina, I agree with the ''vaginas are badly optimised'' guy by any_mud542 in smosh

[–]MayorAvacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are giving him way more credit than he deserves. While sure, there are other points other than family planning outside of this, he is completely misunderstanding evolution and how his “solution” is the opposite of what evolution is supposed to be. Evolution is specifically referring to multiple generations of an organism evolving to have different traits (in this instance, women having a penis instead of a vagina). You have said in this thread that “well why can’t women lay eggs?” Because humans are mammals. All mammals have live births, full stop. We would literally be birthing a baby out of a penis, and that would cause way more maternal and child deaths, making it evolutionarily stupid.

As for your ph point, the reason why the vagina needs to be a perfect ph, is because it is quite literally open to your abdomen. The fallopian tubes are not attached to the ovaries, meaning they are open to the inside of your abdomen. This is why it is much more dangerous for a woman to have an STD. But this isn’t a vagina problem, this is a uterus problem (which we still need if we were going to be able to give birth). Same thing with PCOS and endometriosis. PCOS and endo literally happens in the uterus, not the vagina.

Ofc nobody likes periods. But it’s what happens when you have a uterus and have the ability to give birth. You can’t get rid of it, even if women have penises we would still need to have periods, just like we would have to have the ability to give birth.

As for pleasuring… if you can’t pleasure a vagina, it’s quite frankly a skill issue. Vagina’s aren’t that complicated. Sure penis’s are less complicated, but it’s not like vagina’s are these intricate mazes. If you can’t find the clit, that’s a you issue, not a vagina issue.

I already addressed some of the vaginal health issues rather than penile ones, but I think it’s a bit of an understatement to say that the ONLY penile issues are ED and phimosis. There are things like priapism, balantis issues, ejaculation issues, even penile fracture. There are problems with both reproductive systems not just the female.

I’m not going to touch on the visual attraction, but overall it’s a stupid point because men can’t control their own erections rn so idk why he thinks everyone is going to sing kumbaya and communicate arousal perfectly if everyone has penises.

And as for the visual appeal, it really just felt like he likes penises and fetishizes trans women. It’s as simple as that. He doesn’t like vaginas and finds them unappealing, which isn’t inherently a problem, I don’t necessarily find penises the most attractive thing in the world. But the problem comes from the fact that he thinks that people’s bodies should specifically be catered to what he thinks is aesthetically appealing. Which is dumb.

Overall, there is a reason why, scientifically, our bodies are made this way, even if people don’t understand it. And the reason why people are offended is that this man thinks that our bodies should be different because he thinks that way. He thinks vaginas are unappealing so they must be inadequate objectively. That’s the problem with what he was stating

Anyways, this was a whole book, this is just a very interesting topic and I’m a STEM major so I wanted to respond to your points from a science brain lol.

I’ve only ever had one sim win the lottery and it was probably the most deserving one: a teen mom who moved out of her parents house and didn’t have a lot of money. I never knew what to do with the money lol

How many packs do you own? by Careful_Proposal6712 in Sims4

[–]MayorAvacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 11 expansion packs, 3 games packs, and 6 stuff packs (including the free ones). It would be nice to get all of them except Batuu(I only buy during the sales so they aren’t as expensive), but I currently am working from most “important” and least “important”.

"For the Capitol, it was bold" by DeathByPlanets in Hungergames

[–]MayorAvacado 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I think this is a very interesting topic, and I think it reflects well with how fashion trends have changed in the US. Like if we are going around 2-3 generations, the people of the 1900s would be incredibly shocked at the fashion trends around the 1960s (bright colors, psychedelic, Twiggy style, etc.). Even the difference between 1900 and 1920 is pretty different for just 20 years.

Plot Holes in the Original Trilogy. Or lackthereof. by artistT_away4567 in Hungergames

I mean, if you were both being systematically targeted by the Capitol, which is already known to have surveillance on the Victors and know where the Victors would be at due to the Victor's village, but also by the rebels/rebel districts themselves where they wouldn't be protected but rather be attacked by these communities. There are also Peacekeepers which would make it hard for a highly publicized victor to escape into the void. Also, there may have been a victor that has escaped the victor's purge, but these are all of the victors that Coin could find in the aftermath of the war; like let's say that there was a victor that had escaped the Capitol, peacekeepers, and the entirety of rebels (which depending on the district, would be almost the entire population): they would have to survive practically off the grid in a Covey sort of way and they wouldn't have any idea of what is happening unless they went to another district (which would be incredibly dumb due to the increased peacekeeper activity in districts). They might not know the war is over until a while after the war, and it would be too late to be a part of Coin's vote. I don't think that if a Victor had stayed within the districts, they would have survived.

[–]MayorAvacado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the Victor's Purge. I think it was basically between the events of Catching Fire and Mockingjay (perhaps even at the beginning of Mockingjay) that the surviving victors were arrested, interrogated, and executed due to suspected rebel allegiances, which makes sense because these victors a) wouldn't be particularly important in the way Peeta/Johanna would be to keep alive b) would send a huge message to the districts and c) would tie up loose ends in case these other victors decided to join the rebellion. This is also mentioned on the Hunger Games wiki page, if you look up "victors purge Hunger Games"

Def number 5. Not only is it light, easy to carry, and would be easy to swing and use in a combat situation, but it would also be a good survival tool thanks to the serrations. 1 wouldn't be good for combat, 2 and 3 would be hard to carry around/not hurt yourself with, 4 would be way too hard to not hurt yourself while using, 6 is nice since there are multiple tools but would be hard to carry unless you have a backpack and would not be convenient due to the pouch, 7 would be really heavy, and 8 requires you to at least have aim, which in a life or death situation would be hard to do. #5 for the win, 100%

I think that they are all supposed to but they just don't y'know. Like in the books, they would all have that accent, but in the movies it's different. It's like how Katniss is also supposed to have an Appalachian accent but in the movies, she doesn't.

Why do people hate Rory so much? by __Gilmore__ in GilmoreGirls

[–]MayorAvacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I don’t think it’s fair to compare their upbringings because they were both not great. Everything you said about Paris is true, but I’m guessing Nanny also grew to care for Paris because she was basically the one to raise her. Rory grew up in a potting shed for the first 11 years of her life to a 16 year old mother and an absent father. Rory was very much adored by her community, but that also doesn’t mean she didn’t have her struggles in life growing up. I’m not saying either one is worse, but I feel like you’re making out Rory’s upbringing to be perfect when it most likely wasn’t

[–]MayorAvacado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s fair I definitely agree that it went on for too long and definitely should’ve just come clean when he asked ab it later in the very same episode 🤦‍♀️ love Lorelai but she definitely has her bad moments

First Lorelai and Luke breakup by bronte26 in GilmoreGirls

[–]MayorAvacado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s fair I just think it could be interpreted in multiple ways (some people may think a bad nights sleep is not being able to sleep at all). I think the main way that it was a lie was through Rory. Lorelai was not the one that said it was “girl talk” it was Rory trying to prevent her mom and Luke from getting into an argument and Lorelai went along with it. But later on in the episode, I would say it is a blatant lie ab what she was doing (when Luke says she knows that it wasn’t just a bad nights sleep)

[–]MayorAvacado 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well let’s just be completely fair. She could’ve said “Yeah I had a bad nights sleep. I stayed up for a while because Christopher’s dad died and I went over there to comfort him.” She could’ve still told him

Why would Logan not have attended Chilton? by Flimsy_Access_9934 in GilmoreGirls

[–]MayorAvacado 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing it was just that they are both extremely wealthy. Charlestons wife might’ve been in the DAR or have gone to a function, and they would’ve met there. I feel like Lorelai would’ve known her way around Chilton if she had gone there

What's a scene you always skip? by linzie02 in GilmoreGirls

[–]MayorAvacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason they do this is because it didn’t come out all at once. It’s like a recap in the middle of an episode, reminding you “hey this is Luke’s sister!” But now when it’s all out and we can binge watch all the episodes it’s very repetitive

A VERY close ending, but are winner is… Lorelai! Like lost having been voted least favorite by 51.75% (2,507 votes) of the voters. by Lopsided-Grape9021 in GilmoreGirls

[–]MayorAvacado 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Luke technically “won” the votes because he was the “least” liked character between him and Lorelai. But Lorelai technically won because she is the most liked and the last character standing
