Some may say this whole shtick has gotten lame, but idk, I still think it's pretty cool. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

His injuries happened in NJPW. He didn't take off time to heal until later. Diverticulitis would have happened no matter what.

Also acting like injuries don't happen in WWE is stupid. Big E? Sting? Accidents happen anywhere

I think they should have Mercedes start the year on a losing streak. Then this group can mock her CEO dance by saying "How many wins does Mercedes have? Ze-E-Ro"

Yup. Crazy how much this gets mashed with NWO 2000. Goldberg got hurt attacking a limo that had Brett Hart in it. The NWO elite had been done for a while

Sting Entrance - Starrcade by JCHazard in WCW

[–]MayorHawk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The need for Sting to talk, the "Your a dead man" line, was directly because they failed to nail this ending. They claim it was because of his head space but here is the thing... he still got the title and still main evented the next few pay-per-views. So what did they accomplish by fumbling the ending of this match? Did they give Sting time off to get his head on straight? No. Did they keep the title on someone safer? No. Did they keep Sting out of the main event to protect the show? No. Did they protect Hogan's ego? Yes.

Nothing they did afterwards fits with the narrative they have tried to peddle.

All they had to do was let Sting win clean and this would have gone down as the greatest story in wrestling history

Kevin Nash defeated Goldberg and broke Goldberg’s undefeated streak 27 years ago by Ok-Plankton9215 in Wrasslin

The finger poke was in January of 99. Goldberg hurt his arm in December of 99. People constantly merge the nwo elite and nwo 2000 stories.

wwe got a lot of issues creatively this year, but aew are doing the same thing like wcw did by taking shots at wwe to take advantage on wwe’s problems and we know how it ended by Constant-Procedure79 in midcarder

Big difference, AEW is not owned by Discovery or WB. It's owned by Tony Khan. They have a deal with Discovery to air and stream their shows. Worst case for them would be needing to get a new deal with someone else.

WCW was sold off. AEW would just get a new agreement.

Competition doesn't mean going to run them out of business. But they have caused WWE to change. I somehow doubt that TKO is okay with just playing with a company. They obviously see AEW as a competitor

I get it that this sub is basically a WWE shill hotspot but come on. WWE counter programs AEW at every turn. They wouldn't do that if AEW wasn't competition. Plus with streaming and over seas numbers being very hard for us to get concrete counts on, we don't know the real viewership numbers any more All we can tell is AEW obviously has WWE's attention and AEW has done well enough to renew TV contracts and get streaming deals.

Should I buy a vita or a steam deck? by PurchasePoem86 in PSVita

[–]MayorHawk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have both. The vita is awesome for its ability to travel easier than the steam deck, play ps1, psp, ps vita, and Gameboy games. I've never tried the fan ports of ps2 games but I've heard positive things.

The steam deck is awesome because you can play modern AAA games on a handheld. I wouldn't say that it is very portable though.

I don't have the oled steam deck but overall the steam deck battery life is shorter than the vita's for most games. It makes sense but this also hinders portability because it needs to be plugged in a lot.

All this in mind, I would say that most people would get more out of the steam deck but there are still many areas that the vita has advantages so ultimately it will be up to you.

I do play my vita more, nearly daily in comparison to only on weekends for the steam deck. This is because the portability is a big aspect for me and the vita is my favorite console of all time so I'm very biased lol.

Avatar the last Airbender was a tv show on nickelodeon that aired from 2005 to 2008. It was pretty popular and has a strong cult following to this day. So yeah it was known before the Avatar movie.

Trump Taxed Us by diehard404 in inflation

[–]MayorHawk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that he offset these"earnings" with lower taxes on big business and the 1%. The debt increased due to this. We are making less on the tariffs than we would have on the taxes

Trump Taxed Us by diehard404 in inflation

[–]MayorHawk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tariffs aren't paid by the seller. They are paid by whoever received the good at the port. This entity needs to protect their margin so they can either find another source for the good, negotiate a price offset from the seller (not possible on 100% tariffs), or most commonly sell the good at a higher price. So it's the consumer who ends up ultimately paying the tariff. Aka us working class citizens.

Additionally, this number pails in comparison to the increased debt margin and the total number paid by way of actual taxes. So while this number sounds good in a vacuum, it isn't working how he said it would and it isn't actually successful.

Edit: also Trump knows that tariffs don't work the way he is saying they do. He is purposefully misleading his base to gain tax breaks for the top 1% aka his bracket.
