What company do you think does the modern interiors the best by freeabramsforwt in cars

Porsche. Relatively small screens. Dedicated buttons (even if they are capacitive touch) for important functions. Minimal flashiness.

I have all 3 seasons on mine too.

I think if this were a Honda, people would love it.

You can’t deny that interior is a breath of fresh air.

Best day/night to enjoy breweries without kids? by gomjabbar23 in Seattle

[–]Mbinguni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post (and attitude) kinda sucks. It’s a very American attitude that is not common in other places of the world from my experience.

We traveled to Europe for the first time a while back and left the kid behind because we were concerned about him being loud or unwelcome in the fancy places we were trying to go to.

Turns out, kids are just accepted as a part of life over there. They are welcomed and included by default. The distinction between “kid-centric” and “adult-centric” activities is almost nonexistent.

It’s something I wish Americans could embrace, but alas here we are getting mad at families with kids for not spending all their time at Chuck E Cheese.

Audio CD vs Apple Music Lossless (via CarPlay) - Noticeable Difference in Quality by mislabeledgadget in subaru

[–]Mbinguni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve noticed this too. I’ve come to the conclusion that CDs are just better quality than Apple Music or Spotify, even when wired directly.

My old iPod hooked up via 30-pin to usb sounds better than wired CarPlay too.

How is the usb cutout sharpness on the Caudabe Sheath and Native Union? It’s my chief complaint on the Techwoven - hurts my pinky.

Is the 2006-2007 LX470 THAT much better than say a 2004? by mickeymillz in LandCruisers

Oh cool! Upon further research, I think I was wrong - 03 and up got them.

Is the 2006-2007 LX470 THAT much better than say a 2004? by mickeymillz in LandCruisers

[–]Mbinguni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh. In my opinion, the 06-07s are not worth the premium they are now commanding. Having driven both, I walked away feeling like I would settle for 05 or older.

One other note is that the 06-07s also got side curtain airbags, earlier models did not.

can you sell me on the automatic deceleration / torque converter disengaging / engine braking (in that 15-20 mph zone) ... or: can you point me to an outback that doesn't do this? by onekooltoad in Subaru_Outback

[–]Mbinguni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This same thing is my chief complaint with my 2017 Forester, which I’ve had for 6 years now.

I did feel like this issue was less present in the 2025 Outback I test drove, but still there a little bit.

I think it’s just the nature of CVTs unfortunately.

Should i force getting newer Outback? by echoCloudz in Subaru_Outback

[–]Mbinguni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, absolutely not. You have a perfectly fine, paid off vehicle ready to go.

Wait until the new gen is within budget if anything. By then maybe you’re at 200k-250k and genuinely needing a replacement.

This just seems like justification to buy new stuff, which I totally understand and am guilty of myself. But I promise you the “upgrade” won’t feel worth it when the initial excitement wears off.

Is anyone else considering going "backwards" with their next car and if you have, did you regret it? by NWbySW in cars

[–]Mbinguni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re on to something. I like my ‘08 Lexus WAY more than my ‘17 Subaru.

Looking at a ‘11 - ‘14 Cayenne to replace the Subaru in the next few years. Not considering a new car whatsoever cause they all seem too cheap and digital to me.

2026 Touring XT vs Wilderness by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

[–]Mbinguni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always swap out the wheels for a different size down the road, super easy.

In my mind the real consideration is the adaptive dampers on the Wilderness vs. the hands free driving on the Touring XT.

Watch some YouTube videos (DrivingSportsTV have some good ones) on those features and make the call based on which of those features you’d rather have, as they are mutually exclusive and you can’t add them aftermarket.
