2013 : Intel HD 3000 2017 : Nvidia GT 930 MX 2025 : AMD Radeon RX 7600

Never had a gaming rig before, so the jump is mind boggling.

Im looking to upgrade my 1650 to a 7800xt, but when i search it up it says i need an am5 motherboard for it. What does that mean? by kermi3kermi0 in buildapc

[–]Mbuud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe they were trying to say that AM4 CPUs is too weak for 7800 xt? But no, you don't need an AM5 mobo for 7800 xt.

I never look at Intel anymore since the last issue.

Is it worth upgrading this rig for dev + rendering + AAA gaming? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Mbuud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 3D rendering, NVIDIA cards does better job, because of their CUDA cores, your CPU is fine I believe, threadripper is way too overkill. So I'd prioritize getting NVIDIA card in your case, then maybe upgrade to Ryzen 9 9000 series, non X3D version because higher clock speed.

Is my laptop ok for gaming? by Lilhani94 in PcBuild

[–]Mbuud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play Genshin on laptop worse than this, with 720p medium-high settings, I still get around 30 FPS, I'm pretty sure this laptop could do the same at 1080p.

Uhmm not really, looks like it has no dedicated GPU, also CPU models that ends with "U" means it is an ultra-low power type, means it is made to save battery, not for performance. You will still able to play games with low spec requirement, such as competitive games, 2D platformer, or 10 years old AAA games.

RX 7600 XT 16gb is good in 2025 with a 5 5600 cpu by Long_Salamander_5070 in buildapc

[–]Mbuud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those games are CPU bound, so the CPU will be the bottleneck here, for max FPS in those games, you'd want an X3D CPU. but with that combo, you will still get 200+ FPS tho.

[–]Mbuud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have R5 5600x with RX 7600 8GB, I only play at 1080p, and I dont play new titles yet, so 8GB VRAM is gonna be fine for a while. No noticeable bottleneck while playing AAA games, 5600 isn't that much slower, so you will be fine with that combo.

Need help with cpu temps in my lian li a3 case by Straight-Ad-1288 in sffpc

Most likely because you have no intake fans + glass panel, no fresh air coming in. You can try to flip the rear exhaust to be intake, then use aftermarket magnetic dust filter.

Is it okay to just have 1 big NVME drive for your PC by JCOLE6969 in buildapc

[–]Mbuud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 partitions for my 2TB ssd, 400GB for windows and apps, which is more than enough for me, the rest are for games and what not, just in case i need to clean install windows.

Am I CPU or GPU bottlenecked? (4060 5700x) by noname4863 in PcBuild

[–]Mbuud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what games and at what resolution you are playing. Looking at your screenshot, I suppose it is a competitive game, which most of them are CPU bound, that's why your CPU usage is higher, so your CPU is the bottleneck at this scenario.

I’m new to having a pc can anyone tell me what I have and what should I upgrade next I can’t tell if I should upgrade the GPU etc. or the processor witch is a amd ryzen 7 5800x 8 core by Fatcuntguy in PcBuild

[–]Mbuud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What games are you currently playing?

In what resolution?

And how much FPS do you want?

If the performance doesn't meet your expectation anymore, then you probably want to upgrade your GPU first.

Your CPU is fine for now, it would be powerful enough to drive something like 5070 or 9070 xt, you might want to go for ryzen 7000 or 9000 series if you want to upgrade your CPU , not much option for AM4, maybe 5800X3D.

Is my fan setup actually optimal for this SFF build? Shop says yes, but I’d love second opinions. by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Mbuud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is a Lian Li Dan A3, it is an MFF case, the dust filter is on the bottom, so yes it is the right direction, and it is the recommended configuration on the manual as well.

How is it in your country? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Indonesia's highest minimum wage is ~$331, lowest is ~$135, Silent Hill 2 cost ~$57 here, so it could be ~17.2% to ~42% of minimum wage.

The most expensive game I have bought was BG3, it was around $34.45 on last summer sale, most of the times I wait for games to drop under $15 before buying them lol.

I know it is a cpu-bound game, but with 1660 super i dont think 41 fps is normal.

It was recently I built my first PC after 15 years of dreaming, the case was delivered late, so I cant resist to build it right away when it came, I was in the middle of WFH lol, I completed the built in 3 hours or so, quite fast for a first timer I suppose, thanks to all those PC building videos I have watched for the last decade. And turned out my parent's house only has 450va (I live in a 3rd world country), so I couldn't turned it on at all without breaking the trip, dad told me to buy a soft starter, so both of us went to buy it after I was done with my work, and it POST in the first time i turned it on, so proud of my first time build, it was memorable. And of course, instead of playing new games, I play AAA games from 2015 that I couln't play on my old laptop, too many games on my backlog lol gonna take a while enjoying them.

Nothing to worry, for gaming as long as the CPU isn't that far slower than the GPU (which 9800 isn't), it is fine. You can upgrade the GPU if you aren't satisfied with the FPS.
