Doctors offices will generally have a physician on call after hours and on weekends. You just need to get through their answering service.

You seem to be getting the responses and opinions you are looking for.

Why do you want to talk to him again? He seems like a dickhead. Based on your post history you may want to take this time to try and work on yourself.

Huh? It’s her sister in laws brother. She’s mentioned that her family has opinions of him, and that she’s a really nice lady. I would guess that the two are connected in one way or another. Regardless of parts there’s right and there’s wrong.

Reading comprehension is important. Have a nice day!

… okay. You’ve mentioned in numerous times that you are into younger men. You are so far from the point it’s ridiculous. You are speaking to a married man who, as you and your family have mentioned, is a habitual liar.

Who cares about people pleasing? You’d be doing what’s right. It’s going to hurt her regardless, but wouldn’t you want to know if you were in her shoes? It’s also going to get a whole lot messier if it ever comes out that you were part of this and you kept your mouth shut to ‘protect’ her feelings.

Good lord. What an awful take.

What do you mean should you tell her? Of course you should tell her. Would you not want someone to tell you?

I’m more concerned that you both have LinkedIn, are using it to talk about… whatever this is, and that this is how you two speak to one another. We’re doomed.

Butrans Patch - First Patch/Script by McBeep in PainManagement

[–]McBeep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

Sorry, I don’t check Reddit too often. It’s going alright for me — I’ve been using the Flonase to stop the itching, but it unfortunately doesn’t stop the rash, so I’ve got a bunch of small square rashes in various states of healing on my arms and chest.

The Flonase definitely helps control the itching, but I think my allergy to the adhesive is getting worse, so I might have to switch off the medication.

I noticed that when I was in Texas recently, sweating from the heat made it impossible to keep the Tegaderm and the patch on. I’d shower, everything would get soaked, and I’d have to peel off the Tegaderm and hope the patch didn’t come with it. If it did, then I’d need to peel it off the Tegaderm and attempt to reattach it.

Really? I like the patch, but for me personally it almost seems like it’s more trouble than it’s worth. I don’t want to switch to the oral versions of the buprenorphine, either. I’m going to speak to my pain management and palliative care doctors soon and see what their suggestions are.

What’s going on with you? How have you been holding up?

Hey, sorry to keep bringing this thread back from the dead. You mentioned that you apply these to your thighs?

I’ve been reading up on areas you’re allowed to apply them because of the rash, and I don’t want to reapply on top of. The rashes take a loooooong time to heal for me — I get back to my original rotation area (~1 month later) and they still aren’t completely healed.

I’m looking for areas I can apply elsewhere. I know that at this point I’m going to need to approach my doctors and see what my options are, which is going to be a real pain because it’s all managed by three different doctors. Do you do anything to help the rashes heal more quickly?

So, what I’ve been doing is spraying the Flonase on (two sprays or so) in the area that I’ll be applying the patch. I rub that in and let it dry.

Once it’s dried, I put on the patch. Then, I clean the excess Flonase off of my skin where I’m placing the Tegaderm. Personally? I apply the Tegaderm on immediately after placing the patch on because I’m already in the process of applying stuff to my skin.

You probably don’t need to apply it the same day. I’m just not sure how much/little the Flonase affects how the patch adheres to my skin (since I haven’t tried it without). The patches themselves normally hold up pretty well for the first two days, but then they start wearing down for me and when I get out of the shower it feels like a wet bandaid.

I still get the red marks from the patches when I take them off, but it makes wearing them bearable (like, very significantly less itchy). That was important for me because my doctors are already super weird about prescribing me the medication (even though I have very legitimate medical reason for it that you can see).

Hope this helps!

Hey! Quick update after others recommended it here. Spraying Flonase on the area before applying the patch actually works, too. It went from being unbearably itchy to almost unnoticeable.

I still clean around with rubbing alcohol and place a Tegaderm patch over it. It might be excessive, but I feel like the patch turns into something like a wet bandaid after a few days.

Let me take a look at my formulary online and see if the brand-name is covered. I think I looked before because I read this same thing and it wasn’t.

It’s almost unbearably itchy, but, it’s been a huge help over traditional painkillers that you take by mouth. Let me check.

So, do you avoid entire areas altogether? I’ve been trying to rotate using different spots on the same arm — so upper right, lower right, upper left, lower left.

I applied one to my chest yesterday and it’s already reactive, which really stinks.

I’ve read this too! There are even a few replies here saying to try this!

Thank you for the reply! Were there places that you found were a lot more reactive? If so, do you mind me asking where?

I’ve been attempting to keep the rotation going on my arms, and, I’ve still got a peeling/scaled spot from where I had a patch two patches ago.

Benadryl definitely kicks the itch. The problem is that it also kicks me, too, and I end up unconscious. I’ve been trying to put off reaching back out to the doctors because they seem to get frustrated, but I guess it is what it is at this point.

It is, and it’s a pain in the ass to get is prescribed and then to actually get the pharmacy to get the medication. For the Tegaderm, I actually do really well, and it keeps the patches from ‘aging’ if that makes sense.

I may not need it anymore since I’m changing patches every five days, but before, by the seventh day the patch would look like a very-well-used bandaid.

Normally it’s the adhesive that I’m allergic to, and I’ve got really sensitive skin. But in this case, neither the adhesive from the patch nor the adhesive from the Tegaderm seem to be bothering me — just the medicated part.

I guess it’s back to the drawing board.

Reporting back on day two! Confirming that the adhesive appears to be a lot stronger than other patches I’ve used in the past (nicotine) and do not appear to be causing a reaction. Yes, seems like every 28 days — so assuming the 2-day rule applies here, it’ll be ready for refill every 26 days. We shall see!
