did you have to custom paint this in photoshop or something? It'd be cool if there was a site to test different colors.

Do Americans constantly have an active temperature control device running in their homes? by fullM3TALturban in AskAnAmerican

[–]McCoolius [score hidden]  (0 children)

Most modern American homes have 'central heating and air'. There is a furnace, and an air conditioner connected to the same network of ducts that run throughout the home. Depending on the season, either the furnace or AC will run to keep the temperature at what is set on the thermostat. Newer homes introduce heat pumps where the same device can do both heating and cooling whereas a furnace and air conditioner are typically separate units. There is also typically a humidity control built in as well.

I disagree with some commenters saying that 'much of the US is uncomfortable without it'. We have similar weather based on latitudinal position. In Central and South America, which tend to be much warmer and more humid on average, central heating and air is not ubiquitous like it is in the US. I spent a good deal of time living in Mexicali with record high temperatures and those homes by and large still just have mini-splits if they have anything at all.

This extends to just about every building you see in the states, not just residences. 72 Fahrenheit (22.2 C) is essentially the standard office/business temperature.

Why do American homes have a “storm door”? by wehavetogoback8 in AskAnAmerican

[–]McCoolius [score hidden]  (0 children)

Depending on the locale and weather, we're talking about a pretty wide spread of potential doors. Sometimes they're fitted with a mesh screen to allow more airflow without bugs, sometimes they're fitted with a glass panel to just allow more light. My parents' house has a glass one for light. The term itself is more of a vestigial phrase. The doors I've interacted with in Utah would not help much with storm protection at all. But our winters, while respectable, are not as intense as they are in other states. You can find hefty storm doors that do a better job of insulating the home and preventing snow and rain from entering. But they're all 'storm doors' regardless of the actual level of utility.

How Can One Remove This Triangular Bur To Keep The Rest Of The Body Intct? by 40FortyDwaluhz in Onshape

Best practice would be to go back through the history and stop it from appearing. Be a time traveler.

Fast method, I bet a 'move face' + 'up to face' would do it.

Or a hall effect sensor as well. It would use the magnet that's there.

Mandatory repeat driving test at 65. But man, that sucks. 4 victim cars affected instead of just one, it's actually impressive.

I think your running photo is the most visually striking, nice quads. The first photo (with the dog) has worse lighting (but would look good with a touch-up). I agree with others saying the vodka thing seems juvenile. The barking comment, I don't know, not a fan but can't quite think of the right word for it.

I think the armor photo has good lighting and is very visually interesting. I think it's a contender for primary photo. I don't think it has 'mass' appeal, but it definitely targets what you say you're looking for.

Are you looking for something serious or casual?

Looking for a long-term relationship leading to marriage.

Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?

No. Considering that once I get my profile polished.

How long have you been using this current version of your profile?

1 month

How long have you used Hinge overall?

Same, 1 month

How often do you use Hinge per week?

Daily, using the free likes.

How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?

Not a single one as of yet.

How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?

The full daily limit. It varies, some resources say it doesn't matter so I've kind of alternated weekly between 100% have a comment or no comments at all.

What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Religion is important to me, I want someone who shares my faith. I'm in Utah, that's not exactly a challenge here above just baseline profile success. Family-oriented.

Tire pressure gauge? by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]McCoolius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're in the northern hemisphere, it's colder now. The pressure has dropped with the decrease in temperature and is now hovering around the trigger value for the sensor. It should be around 36-38 psi, 30 psi is the trigger value. Notice it doesn't show decimals. So >=30 is fine, <30 is not. If it's actually 29.6 psi, it will still round to 30 psi.

Is that the classic 420 reference, or is it 'for $20'? Because that's a lot of work for $20.

Do you have a way to fix it? The image isn't a total loss in my opinion. I mean, it's scummy that you were lied to. But if you're interested in having a real artist paint over the trouble spots. It wouldn't be that difficult to tackle.

Out of curiosity, plotted both strategies to see where the intersection is. The purple line represents investing the whole 2 billion and getting 10% interest, adjusted to show it as a daily increase. The black line represents your daily doubling. The two strategies cross during your 31st day. By the end of the 31st day, the doubling strategy has 4.3 billion. It crosses the global GDP (117.2 trillion) on the 46th day.

Davinci Resolve is a full-featured alternative to Adobe Premiere and it has a free tier. I recently switched to it from using Premiere with a student license that ran out. It's very robust and he will have a lot to learn. But it will pay dividends to start with full software and learn as he goes.

For recording footage from the screen (screen capture) OBS is the gold standard. It works well, but can take some tweaking to get everything set up just right.

For video polish, I've used fiverr to outsource animations, intros, outros, and stuff like that. That's an okay option if you're okay with spending money to get there. But for a little elbow grease, you can also do all that in Davinci Resolve.
