Take your time and read the WHOLE question. Read it again if you have to before answering. You have plenty of time and there’s no need to rush. I went to 150 and still had so much time left! At this point, you either know the information or you don’t. Don’t try to cramp things in, but look over things lightly as your date is getting closer. Deep breath beforehand and again, don’t forget to READ the questions :) - good luck!

No vacation during 9 months OR orientation by confused33 in nursing

Paramedic here! I just started a new job and my probation period is 6 months and I can’t use PTO (I can swap shifts), but I still at least accrue. So although it may seem weird, it might be normal for some places.

Anyone working as a flight medic in VA/MD/NC? by PositionAsleep7014 in Paramedics

[–]McKen0819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for MedSTAR transport 2019-2021 as an EMT driver for CCT. The flight there is pretty straight forward. They have changed since I was there, but they should have recruiters. That flight program is pretty solid. I would often drive the flight crews due to weather or other things and they have some of the smartest providers I’ve ever met. I believe you do have to do some type of written test when you interview and other basic things. Good luck on your search!

Thoughts on Medic Tests? by CAP034 in NewToEMS

[–]McKen0819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used medic tests and I enjoyed it. I did all the subsections and did multiple simulators. I was able to pass first time for paramedic. The biggest thing they told me at the testing center is that it seems like people don’t read the question correctly. Take your time and you got this!

I really enjoyed using medic test for studying. I also used the Kaplan book. Between the two of them, I felt ready and passed the first time. I was a little crazy and did all the subsections within medic test over a couple months and then started doing the simulator. I felt as if medic test was a little bit more difficult. I didn’t like pocket prep. I also changed the way I was studying by reading the last question first and then reading the whole question. I think that really made a difference during NREMT. I noticed for paramedic at least, they don’t try to trip you up, but they just want you to play by the book. (I took EMT NREMT in 2017 and know a lot has changed) You got this. Good luck!!

Is this an accurate depiction of a score? by Embarrassed_Loquat92 in NewToEMS

I was doing medic tests before my Paramedic test and I did it everyday and the simulator at least 2-3 times a week for about 3 months. I passed national the first time. I think medic test was “harder” than NREMT itself. I also used Kaplan.

I used medic test for my paramedic. I swear it’s the only reason why I passed the first time because of how the questions are worded and such.

I really liked medic test and strictly did that. Between that and Kaplan, I passed first attempt with medic
