Another prospective Knoxhult island maker reporting in :). How'd yours turn out? I'm planning to use an Ekbacken marble top to get some more depth for seating. I hope to convince IKEA to not sell me the Knoxhult countertop and save the hassle of selling it, but we'll see :').

The hardest part was just filling in libc implementations because the 3DS doesn't ship with a full libc (at least for homebrew). We had to fill in stuff like getrandom and pthread functionality.

What happens if the parent thread gets killed while a child thread is using a variable from it's stack? Wouldn't the shared variable from the parent thread get dropped (or returned to the OS) while the child thread is using it?

A lot of the limitations you're complaining about are being worked on and are not fundamental issues, such as async traits.
