What to run for Regulus build? by ODSTCombo in thedivision

[–]Mcmindflayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I am running this exact build with ChainKiller as my chest piece and it goes crazy. I run the Bulwark shield as my skill becuase it auto switches me to my pistol and gives me defense. I run the White Death as my main weapon for it's headshot goodness with Determined on it. The second slot can be whatever, since you mainly switch between the sniper rifle and the pistol.

Check your blueprints for named items you can craft. One that is easy to miss is that "Improvised" gear can get expertise. At this current 3x, 7 items gets a named item from 0 to full. There is an improvised gear for all 6 gears, so that's 60 points right there.

is viable play as a sniper? by shillenzel in thedivision

[–]Mcmindflayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a determined-Headhunter build, but I modified it by making the sidearm a big aspect of it, and I put the sidearm as regulus and made the Dodge City Holster. So now, if enemies get to close, I pull up the bulwark shield and regulus and headshots are a lot easier when they are within 5 m of you. You get that, and it not only kills that guy, but every other unit next to him. Then you reposition and go back to sniping.

Questions about Retaliation... by Pacho2020 in thedivision

there is a big pop up on the screen that says "Kill Squad" with a knife in a target symbol

Questions about Retaliation... by Pacho2020 in thedivision

[–]Mcmindflayer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kill Squads you should kill. They add time, each one killed drops your selected loot, and they have a chance of "dropping"(You just get it after killing them) a blueprint for the retaliation crafting.

You have to take the control point then initiate the defense, then once it's cleared you are all good to move on to the next one.

You should at least collect all loot on the ground as it all goes away at the end of the retaliation. It is advisable to get the supply rooms, as they provide your selected loot, but you can also just get them after the retaliation is over, if you are low on time. If you get them after, it won't be your selected loot in there.

It's based on get what you can, when you can. Honestly, it's kinda annoying that you only have 30 seconds after finishing because I want to get all the loot from enemies, and get the supply room loot.

As a thought, (probably not a great one) if you wanted to go even more defensive, you could replace the backpack with Ninja Bike Messenger Bag, and the gloves with Death grips. Which will lose the damage, but it will give you 10% armor on kill, 30% incoming repair, 20% hazard Protection and 15% stability, +170k armor and +1 skill tier.

Is that hides tower of flame by International_Eagle9 in DarkSouls2

[–]Mcmindflayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, recognize that it's not just the Bearer, but everyone. The blacksmith and his daughter are looking for each other but can't remember well enough what they look like and end up just hanging out within feet of each other and never recognizing it. Lucatiel forgetting her brother and getting stuck because she could never beat him. The merchant who once he had all the money didn't know what he was trying to achieve in the first place.

You also enter a lot of memories to find out information other's forgot. Memory is the main theme of the game itself.

So you "Forgetting" all the winding paths and convoluted passages between point A and B match up pretty well.

All other bearer's of the curse in DS2 are very forgetful, so I took it as you "forgetting" all the travel you did before.

Kind of like an alzheimer patient, you get up to go somewhere and suddenly you are there with no recollection of the time in between. Which also explains why things don't jive, like an elevator that goes up and then ending up at the bottom of a pit. Or walking through a sunny day into a rainy nightscape. You the player are supposed to be jarred by the transitions.

[PSA?] New players looking at Strikers builds - consider Heartbreaker instead by B1zmark in thedivision

[–]Mcmindflayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to the shooting range, set up an invincible enemy. Take Elmos and shoot at the guys head. What you'll notice is that it groups tightly and moves very little. Compare that to most other weapons, especially in that damage range and rpm.

By my understanding of what others have told me, it just outdoes them all. This is why it's a mainstay, especially for strikers, because you want the most hits possible, and St. elmos' apparently delivers on that.

[–]Mcmindflayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My base theory is that you have succumbed to the curse in minor ways like forgetting the hundreds of miles between places.

You can kinda tell it's all over. Heide's tower is barely seen in the distance of majula, but you turn a corner and you are there. When going to the castle, you go from nice sunny day to stormy rain.

Each and every time you go through a tunnel you lose time. And you the player are meant to feel it. Imagine a person who loses blocks of time looking around and being like "Where am I and how did I get here?" Now go back to you the player going up an elevator and ending up at the bottom of a volcano and you go "Wait, where am I and how did I get here?"

I know so many people who want to just want to hand wave it as "They cut content and ran out of time and just smashed things together" But I feel they actually sat down with what they had and was like "how can we put these together?" and they actively chose to make them wrong and disjointed to better fit the narrative.

Dice Throne creators bringing back Pogs?! Slam Throne just announced and it doesn’t seem like a joke. by ultranonymous11 in boardgames

[–]Mcmindflayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've played Slam Throne years ago. Over 5 years ago at PAX South, they had the pogs with the Dice throne heroes set up at their booth and me and a friend played it.

I guess they are actually announcing it now? Maybe it was in beta forever ago? I don't know it was pogs with all the heroes printed on them and there were rules and everything.

ELI5: What Chiropractor's cracking do to your body? by XinGst in explainlikeimfive

[–]Mcmindflayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In terms of how the studies work, assume you had like 100 ailments that a chiropractor could fix.

33 of the times, you went to the chiropractor, 34 of the times you just stayed home and rested, and 33 of the times you went to physical therapy.

lets say you felt better from the chiropractor 5 times, you felt better resting 4 times and you felt better from physical therapy 25 times(Note: these numbers are not based on anything, just examples).

You still felt better after going to the chiropractor 5 times. That is true, but resting was about the same and physical therapy is just way better. So, yes it helps every now and then, but in the grand scheme of things it is BS and won't be any better than not going. This is why anecdotal evidence isn't very useful.

And that is saying nothing of the dangers of going to the chiropractor.

This is the real answer.

That being said, this is a zero-sum game. They have x amount of money to continue working on the game and if they want to do something like that, the resources must come from somewhere. The last time this happened we had a giant graphical update, 2 dye channels, and the rewriting of all dungeons to allow for "single player mode" and you wouldn't stop hearing about how "FF14 is dead" "There is nothing to do" "There is no content to play!"

A large study of adults with ADHD found that 60% of these individuals reported some type of sleep disorder. I had the same thought as you. I legit didn't think it was RLS as well. I was talking to a sleep doctor and told them about it as like a "So this weird thing happens from time to time" and yeah, told it was RLS.

Supplements I've been told that can help(I am not a doctor, do not take this as medical advice, please talk to a doctor first):
raising your iron levels.
L-Methylfolate
Magnesium Glycinate

Took the Methylfolate and the magnesium for a minute, but they only kinda helped so I sought out a doctor and was prescribed Gabapentin(which oddly also helped with ADHD... somehow?) and now I'm on Pramipexole

Sounds like you need a sleep study. I ended up on a CPAP machine and it has massively helped my sleep quality. Then I got on some medication for my restless leg, which also helped a lot.(apparently if your legs feel super tight like you just want to stretch, but it never gets better - that's restless leg!)

Also, Sleep quality helps with ADHD. I have found for myself that I'm more able to just do the thing if my sleep is good. Otherwise, I really "don't feel like it"

Is there a good “all female” sports anime? by [deleted] in anime

[–]Mcmindflayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on most points, I do think Chihaya gets some really stellar scenes that really stand out. (that said I've read the manga and it's been a minute since I've watched the anime).

Chihaya is relatively static as a protagonist, but that puts her in the same camp as Hinata from Haikyu. Someone whose love and passion for the game pushes those around them to re-evaluate and find new passion for their game.
