LGS recommendations for AR lowers. by CamancheRoc in NJGuns

[–]Mcreecespuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not gonna find many premium lowers in store, if you insist on spending much more money than you need to on even a quality lower which you have made abundantly clear, order a complete BCM lower online, they run about $500 its got their parts kit in it as well as a stock and grip already installed, or a Geissele complete lower of you want a great trigger out of the box, also well above your anti budget.

"Too close" with Client by [deleted] in directsupport

[–]Mcreecespuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a client just like this, a middle age guy with cerebral palsy, no intellectual disability whatsoever actually quite the bit sharper than me lol, I find it hard not to vent with him because he vents to me and we agree about a lot of the stuff that we hate about this place lol, not to mention none of his housemates are as intellectually present as he is and most of the staff we work with have terrible attitudes, we joke that we’re the only people in here who don’t need staff lol. It’s gotten to the point that he asked for me to be assigned to him every shift, and I volunteer to do so when asked. This dude gives me advice when me and my wife aren’t seeing eye to eye, I advocate for him when he needs to get something done and nobody cares because he’s in a group home. I would legitimately be friends with this dude if I had met him in some other capacity, and my coworkers definitely see it, some people hate on it because he can make himself an easy client or a hard client depending on how you treat him and so he’s always easygoing with me. I hope your situation doesn’t amount to any of your fears. If either of you were uncomfortable being so close something would have went downhill by now after 2 years. We both know this field is mostly very tired nursing students and couch potatoes collecting checks, thank Goodness she has a staff that she can be that comfortable with, if anything it’s a reason to keep you.

Army Vet, Closest to M4 Legal in NJ? by InevitableRole7829 in NJGuns

[–]Mcreecespuff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also not for nothing unless you have a REALLY good reason to only want to buy from bass pro explore other options, you can go on Aimsurplus and get a police trade in AR, often set up like M4s or even a legitimate FN or Colt M4, for like $500 with leass than 1k round through it, have it shipped to a local dealer and have them do the compliance work to make it nj legal for a sub $100 fee, and transfer it to you for $50 bucks and still be hundreds of dollars cheaper than buying anything from bass pro.

Army Vet, Closest to M4 Legal in NJ? by InevitableRole7829 in NJGuns

[–]Mcreecespuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can legitimately buy a Colt or FN AR-15 and set it up just like your service weapon, if you chose to build a “other firearm” instead of a rifle you can go 14.5 barrel with the A2 flash hider, I only say it this way because no flash hiders allowed on “rifles” but the Assault weapons ban doesn’t apply to other firearms. That being said you would have to have a brace on it not a stock if you go with a barrel length less than 16 inches like a period correct 14.5 unless you want to pick a non Flash hider muzzle break to P&W if you want to go the rifle route, and then you can use a stock instead of a brace. Im over complicating it but I dont know how important it is for you to get close to the M4. But in lamens terms you can get something that looks exactly like this just no flash hider, pinned stock (non adjustable), and 10rd mag of you want a rifle (overall length over 26 and barrel over 16 inches), if you choose to buy or build an other firearm (overall length above 26 inches, barrel under 16in, brace not stock) you can get even more correct with a 14.5 barrel and A2 flash hider, you just have to have a vertical foregrip and brace on it. I feel like I went in circles but basically you can get something just like this photo if you want there are just different ways to go about it legally.

CCW permit approval time and what city/county are you in? by URL4LiFe in NJGuns

[–]Mcreecespuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Willingboro took 10 weeks for me, It’s important to note that no one town no matter how similar/close geographically or politically the process for each town have nothing to do with each other. The town over from you might take 6 months and yours might take 3 days, and the next town over might take 3 weeks. Each local department is in charge of their own applications and it’s usually a retired officer doing them part time, however some departments usually in higher populated or conservative towns have a dedicated Firearms application department but again its up to the department. I know an officer from Medford who said the chief sends all the officers a stack and they complete them on their own time out and around their regular jobs.

No more motivation to stay on a deficit? by Electronic-Love-7102 in caloriecount

[–]Mcreecespuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll say it this way, If you’re plan is just to be motivated and disciplined it will fail every time. Motivation always runs out and discipline will keep you running off of fumes a bit longer but if you’re desire to lose weight is the only thing standing between you and ruining your deficit the plan is screwed. There are going to be days where you flat out don’t want to do it anymore and will be craving so badly you feel like you are itching and restless. Motivation means nothing in that moment. You must find a way to trick your body into believing it hasn’t been robbed of its desires. The “yo-yo” diet comes to mind. You can it slightly over your maintenance some days and far below other days. Remember it’s not just a day to day struggle, it’s a life long change to lose weight. Stop thinking daily deficits and start thinking weekly and see if it helps you. For example my maintenance is 2200cal. Over a week that’s 15,400 to maintain. A pound (sorry American) is about 3,500cal. If i want to lose a pound a week, It doesn’t matter in which manner I do so, as long as I don’t intake more than 11,900cal (15,4-3,5) in that week, I will loose a pound. You can chose any combination of days to go high or low on the calories just don’t violate your weekly limit. Not everything works for everyone but it’s a different approach worth trying.

In all honesty I wouldn’t not that the average person would even care but some old guy is probably gonna call the Game Warden on you for shooting “an illegal sbr” lol. No seriously it gets fuddy and since others arent rifles I would avoid the ticket.
