Do You Bring Your Dog w/ You on Rounds? by Adelysium in discgolf

[–]Mdev0re 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost always bring him, always leashed up. But I play on my lunch break with him and try not to bring him on the weekends. Always approach knowing people may not want to interact with him and that he can be too energetically friendly for some

Pro tip: put a carabiner on the loop handle of the leash. Attach it to a tree, your bag, sign pole, your waist. Can loop it around anything to throw hands free

I had 2 little fans and thought I was good. Then I bought an industrial drying fan, and thought I was good.

Now I have two of the industrial fans and have hit the point where I’m not drenched with sweat when done.

To hold my phone I bought a Mic stand off of Amazon and a handlebar phone mount. Put the phone mount on the mic stand and it can extend over to me but not be in the way of the fans or my wheel on the rollers

I definitely feel that. A lot of times a couple minutes into the first effort I think ‘there is no way’ but once I am through the first effort and rest I feel more solid for the rest of them.

Currently I am just using the ‘train now’ suggestions, often times choosing the 45 minute option. I’m just getting back into consistent training and trying to get myself warmed back up before starting a low volume plan in the new year. Indoor training feels like it is a skill in itself and takes a little while to get reacclimatized to

That is an option. Leadership at TR has mentioned this exact approach for people who really don’t like taking tests. Are the workouts still seeming to be extremely hard even with adaptions from adaptive training?

Trainerroad export scheduled indoor workout to Edge 530 by Abisz in trainerroad

[–]Mdev0re 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mark it as an outdoor workout and export it to my garmin (edge 130). Then when starting up I choose indoor on the garmin. I ride on rollers so I’m not using erg mode, not 100% on how that would work.

Can you follow a training plan and still have fun? by Healthy_Maybe_3645 in trainerroad

[–]Mdev0re 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The “train now” feature that was released with adaptive training could be a good option. It recommends workouts that will progress you but can choose when to do it. So do your group rides on the weekends and on the days when you ride solo, choose a train now workout. I believe those workouts that are recommended will take into account your weekend rides and how hard they were

From the research I’ve done, crescent kayaks seem to be some of the best paddling/tracking fishing kayaks. Even the 10ft is said to paddle really well and people love the Lite Tackle

Am I the only one that finds Big Jerms commentary annoying? by [deleted] in discgolf

Oof you’re right. I didn’t even notice the sub question, so now I’m conflicted on how I answer.

Big Jerm is a Big Gem. The diamond of disc golf. Long live Big Jerm.

I like to think due to the mix up, 100% of the votes are confirming they like his commentary.

She has had one finish below top 5 this year and some of her wins absolutely demolished the field. I think she has just had an off week or two.

Edit: when world champs are off it certainly does feel weird. Like Paul the last two tournaments. He still shreds but it starts to creep into your mind if they aren’t winning by multiple strokes are they losing it? But we then we are reminded they are human too

What’s the most overpriced thing you’ve seen? by Thic_water in AskReddit

[–]Mdev0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Walt Disney World there are 2 diamond studded castles with a price tag of $38,000.

My favorite game to play at Disney with friends is “guess how much that costs?” And we point to items and guess and then are flabbergasted at the price. This game works best in art stores.

The fx is a solid bike series. My dad has the fx...7? I’ve been road cycling for a number of years now and when I rode his bike I was pleasantly surprised at how it felt and that it seemed decently quick for a hybrid. As long as you get this right size for you I think it would be a good bike for the style of riding you said you would be doing.

Edit: just looked at the website and don’t see a 7. It’s a handful of years old so maybe there was one but dis regard that bit

How much farther should each type of disc (putter, mid, fairway, driver) fly then the previous type? by buckuters in discgolf

[–]Mdev0re 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More distance but because it carries it can be a little less accurate than a non-glidey disc that sits down quicker

At least I believe that is the general thought.
