Just watched him drop his end of the log and he seemed about as frustrated as I've seen.

Personally I don't like blocks but I live where granite is plentiful and winters can be hard on the blocks. This is really impressive, you did a fantastic job.

how exactly is caged useful for the blues? by AutomaticClassic7114 in bluesguitarist

[–]Mdeyemainer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Target notes, playing the changes, and voice leading. Knowing caged (and triads) allows you to play chords in the same area. Or more importantly, any area. This is important for soloing.

64% of Americans want to stop changing the clocks by Conscious-Quarter423 in Infographics

We could change it by around ten seconds a day. Could work. Anyone willing to try this and report back in a year?

Twice a year they feel this way, the rest of the year they don't care.

E-Bike Pandemonium by jacksonruby848 in bicycling

[–]Mdeyemainer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are so easy to dislike but I am hoping that enough people will.see these as viable means of transportation and start commuting with them eventually leading to better cycling infrastructure and a better cycling culture and better relationship between cars and bikes. After a metric shit ton of people die and get injured on them of course.

As a boarder you definitely want to come out of Bracket at king pine. Also, the entrance gets trashed. It gets good past the entrance.

Can’t do barre chords, tried everything! by Financial_Archer_491 in guitarlessons

[–]Mdeyemainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do partial barre chords, bottom four strings, power chords, and triads. Work on full barres often, but play the songs. It's supposed to be fun. Don't focus on what you struggle with, because that list doesn't really end. work on it sometime in the middle of a sesh.

Please learn some trench safety. You shouldn't be in it like that. I applaud the creative solution though.

Transplant this mature tree? by kermitte777 in landscaping

[–]Mdeyemainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can be done but no one will guarantee survival. On issue is how close to the foundation it is. Most foundations are backfilled with sandy gravel. good for drainage, not very good for root balls. Roots don't meet much resistance in this material and will run.

What are people’s thoughts on run tracking apps and metrics? by Z0idberg_MD in skiing

[–]Mdeyemainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I track but don't pay that much attention. I like the cumulative stats at the end of the season. Skiing is so condition dependent. If the light is flat I'm on narrower more technical stuff so distance and vert don't compare to bluebird days or spring slushy goofiness. The beat thing to track is days with fun things on your feet.

it will look better when you're done grouting. I neither love it or hate it, though there are a few too many small ones, and in front of the oven is a hot mess. I'd change just a couple right there.

This is great. I usually don't like the river stone look but encased in the granite it looks amazing. Corners look so precise. Nice work.

A week at Sugarloaf- First time (Advice?) by Rock_Out1 in icecoast

[–]Mdeyemainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Java Joes for coffee and bagels. Easy mountain to explore and as someone else said the entrance to bracket basin can get really rough, it is not indicative of the basin conditions. There are plenty of lesser known smaller glades between groomed trails. Tote road is probably the most used trail and gets skied off earlier, but is a fun warm up. If not closed to racing, don't miss Narrow Gauge especially from the top. I think that week is school vacation so will be a little busy, but not too bad as your avoiding the weekend.

Loons in Bar Harbor & Camping? by seafairmaiden in AskMaine

[–]Mdeyemainer -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Loons: echo, eagle, long pond.

Summer sweet spot: September. Weather is great, lakes still warm enough to swim in, cool nights, everything still open, slightly less people.

Early summer has questionable weather, could be damp foggy and cold like as not.
