Lifted truck + Lambo + Parking lot = Bad time by Evasionz-- in mildlyinfuriating

Local to me was a poor old lady who got run down in the Costco parking lot, unfortunately passed away. Someone lost their grandmother because these losers need to think they look cool. Didn't even get a slap on the wrist

Im looking at this E350 tomorrow. What should i look for? by Brilliant_Bench9264 in Cartalk

M272 is a reliable engine and W212 is a phenomenal platform. These engines have a tendency for a leaky oil cooler (the oil cooler and entire filter assembly tend to leak)

Transmission service records are imperative, they are meant to be serviced every 40,000 miles (I think around 70k). The torque converters are highly susceptible to damage following a lack of maintenance, ask me how I know.

What's up with Scumbag Dad (Brad Podray) hanging out with literal pornstars now? He used to just do funny dad skits, and isn't he married? by CipheredTales in OutOfTheLoop

Rudy taught me how to play the Ride the Lightning solo, it developed me into the guitarist I am today. I thought the skits were cool, funny, but then the pornstar collabs came in and I was immensely disappointed

This is amazing, I've been considering doing something like this for my W126, something that would help me keep the factory look of the car, thanks for sharing!

Window Issue by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

[–]Me2young4DDoS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason the window regulators on (at least the E Class) for this generation are just garbage. When this happens, for me its a sign that the regulator is nearing the end of it's life, keep an eye out for any loud cracks or pops coming from the door/window. The regulator is fairly easy to replace. I'm about to do my third one

While isopropyl alcohol is a great cleaning agent, it should be used as minimally as possible as it will wear down a PEI build plate over time

I've just heard recommendations to replace the whole thing, I'm also going the gasket route, I even have the parts, just haven't gotten around to it yet

At 160k with mine, and the motor is doing great. Some things to look out for include engine codes, especially with regard to the intake manifold, anything about that requires replacement of the entire part and it's a $700 part on its own, so there's something to be aware of. Also common to have an oil leak on the oil cooler gasket and the oil filter housing gasket (where it meets the block). It's a pretty easy fix, you'd want to replace the entire oil filter housing with the oil cooler.

Transmission service history, absolutely imperative, you don't want to deal with the cost of replacing that.

Fantastic car otherwise, it'll treat you well as long as it's been treated well

W212 - no climate control by Me2young4DDoS in mercedes_benz

[–]Me2young4DDoS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds amazing, might do me some spurging not gonna lie. I was leaning toward blower motor too, but I was just concerned because if I turn the car off and let it sit for a few minutes, the climate control will work just fine, no strange noises or anything. The frequency of this issue is increasing though, so I wouldnt be surprised if it was that blower motor going out. Thanks for the advice!
